all work and no play makes soundgarden a dull band
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

Come on man, the answer is obviously the shit-stirringest one in the band...

I seem to remember an interview with Robert where he said he tried to introduce himself to Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell backstage at Lollapalooza and they both blew him off.

It's too bad Matt doesn't like STP because he's the only guy in SG that I like, and it's because he's in Pearl Jam.

Meh, at least no member of STP has made an album with Timbaland. You want to talk about " bad vibes and obligations".....

The only song that comes to mind when I think of Soundgarden is Black Hole Sun and thats only because MTV incessantly played the video.  Chris Cornell has a huge head, he'll never stay with Soundgarden for long.  They are irrelevant in 2010.

You guys will probably hate me for saying this, but you could say the same about Stone Temple Pilots. They lost to a Glee soundtrack. Obviously millions of people have lost interest in both bands.

I enjoy that the STP member tried to cool things off with a beer and not throw punches

STP are in the same boat as Soundgarden, they are both back now and probably don't have many brand new young fans since they came back.

It's too bad they don't get along, a tour with them both on the bill would do rather well I think

So disappointed :P Cornell didn't say anything, right? That would be actually disappointing.
STP don't mess with anyone out there... leave them alone for God's sake!

what about Matt STP quote?

I wish Cornell didn't say anything, as I love his voice and do really like Soundgarden, but this supposed quote from him sounds so egotistical it made me laugh:

I leave you with a quote from Cornell ” For tons of fans, it won’t be nostalgia it’ll be discovery. We were more eclectic than the other Seattle bands. The next generation should know who we are.”

I'm not sure I understand what he means; what will current fans "discover if SG aren't doing anything different?"  And how are Soundgarden more ecletic than Seattle bands such as Pearl Jam?  Also, can't the "new generation" know who SG are without a reunion?

I also vote that Eric was the 'beer peace treaty' STP member ;)
“The news reports said I’d torched $10,000 worth of Scott’s clothes, which was wrong by a factor of eight. He was somewhat insulted at their estimate: ‘Eighty thousand dollars, Mary,’ he said later.”

I can understand where you're coming from, but STP's been touring fairly successfully for a couple of years and managed to put out a new album.  It may not have sold in huge numbers but it was a new album nonetheless that most of their fans, at least, appreciate.  Soundgarden played 1 real show (Lollapalooza) and is putting out an EP with a song that was written years ago during the Badmotorfinger sessions as a single.  Lets see them be cohesive enough to put together a new album and a tour, then we'll see how it goes...
