I'm going to see him in a week or so.  I saw he still plays some SDRE songs.  I haven't listened to any of his solo stuff in years.  Maybe, it's time I listened again.

I would have like to see them wet the vocals with at least a little hall reverb. They had the mix dry as hell. So basically if any of you wanted to hear them in the practice room, that video displays it.i am not ragging their performance, but i am ragging the live production.

Just to clarify:


Dry vocals have no effects.
Wet vocals have effects.
That being said it's very bad practice to record with effects. If you record your tracks dry then you have options at mixdown to use any effects you like. If you record wet then you're stuck with whatever is on the track.
There are exceptions to this of course but generally you want most all your tracks to be dry so you maintain control at mixdown.


Live though is definitely when you want to wet the vocal. I use little effects live, just because i typically don't need them.
