Yeah I was never really a fan of S/T as an album but I do think 'First Kiss on Mars' and 'Take A Load Off' are great songs and stand up with their previous work.

Played this album to death in 2013 and listened to it again today for the first time in ages -

Thanks for the tip!  I was not aware of an earlier demo.  I might have to try and locate it.  Dont get me wrong though, its not a terrible CD.  I do re-visit it from time to time.  it just falls short of what it could have been with some help in the lyrics/melody department.

I loved that song the moment I first saw the video on MTV Europe back in 1997. Patton's vocals are excellent as always and that e bow guitar solo always gives me chills!! I thought 'Album of the Year' was great too and never understood the negativity it received.

I am also on a Mike Patton binge at the moment since 'Sol Invictus' came out.

Today I listened to these 2 albums, highly recommended for any fan of his work -

Peeping Tom - 'Peeping Tom'


Lovage - 'Songs to Make Love To Your Old Lady By'

Listened to the Singles soundtrack.  Great album.  I remember the movie being funny, cool to see the Seattle music scene.  Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, AlicenChains.

Yeah, I always felt like 3DG weren't a band that could really pull off making full albums. Their singles and maybe one other stray song would be really enjoyable for me. The only album of theirs that comes close to a full listening experience for me, would have to be Transit Of Venus. And even that's a stretch.
