Was listening to my favorite Oasis album earlier, me and a few friends have been doing an acoustic rendition of 'Slide Away' lately which got me to thinking it's been far too long since I gave this classic album a spin!

Blur and Oasis are actually my two favourite bands to come out of this country and I remember their little rivalry well, good times! I actually saw Blur live last month and they were on top form, I think 'The Magic Whip' is a great comeback album and I just wish Oasis would get their shit together now and reunite for an album and a tour.

Anyway going against the grain somewhat lol but today Ive been listening to -

I've always thought that for an album of 'odds and sods' it has some fantastic songs! My favourites are 'Sad', 'Hold On', 'Hard To Imagine', 'Alone' & 'Footsteps', those songs are better than some of their A sides!

Ehhh....at this point of Liam's career I don't really think I'd want another album, maybe just a short tour because we know he tends to sound near the end of long tours (2002, 2006). What Noel is writing right now for his solo albums are pretty generic and aren't that catchy so in my opinion the songwriting would have to be back to Liam, Andy, and Gem, though I wouldn't want an Oasis reunion without the 5 original members, including Tony.

I wouldn't mind Liam, Andy and Gem handling more of the songwriting, especially if it was in the vein of their stuff on previous Oasis albums and the first Beady Eye album but not if its similar quality to the awful stuff on their second album together as BE, I thought that album was atrocious and I think they may have also realised this as they split soon afterwards. I feel the same about Noel's albums too really, enjoyed the first one a lot, the second one not so much...
There's no denying Liam doesn't sound anywhere near as good as he used to but I actually enjoyed the last Oasis album 'Dig Out Your Soul', I think 'The Turning' in particular was classic Oasis... If they could put out an album as good as that or better I'd be happy because lets face it, none of us are expecting another DM or MG from them at this stage.
I can't see them reuniting with Tony either, they've been pretty harsh about him in regards to his 'drumming abilities'! I think when they buried him at the end of the 'Live Forever' video that said it all haha!

At the very least I would like to see this band live one more time before they all retire.

311 - Creatures (For Awhile)
They were such a good rock band, never quite understood the whole reggae thing they had going on

Been listening to Dave Navarro's only solo album - 'Trust No One', criminally underrated release I feel. His vocals and guitar effects are very impressive here.

I disagree.  Its rated appropriately.  The music certainly isnt bad, but his vocal are average at best and his lyrics are positively atrocious.

I agree that some of Dave Navarro's lyrics aren't the best but I was actually surprised how much I like his vocals, personally I think he's got quite a nice singing voice and I really like the album musically. Some of the songs were better (and completely different) in their original form though on the 'Spread' demo tape that leaked, the original version of 'Mourning Son' is a beautiful song.

Currently listening to -

Stone Temple Pilots - 'First Kiss On Mars' (favourite song from S/T)
