all of my love by led zeppelin.
i used to dislike this song bc i thought it was a cheesy love song written by robert plant to some girl he was with for a little bit or something, but after looking into it several years ago i learned this song was actually entirely about the death of his son Karac in 1977 and it was like i had heard the song for the first time again and have loved it ever since. robert plant recorded the vocals in one take! i think it was a great move of doing one-take, because singing the lyrics of a song you wrote about the death of your young child for the first time brings out a certain emotion in youthat cant be replicated
poor kid died of a stomach infection at the age of 5.
also it gave me a whole new aspect of my listens of songs from their last album "In through the outdoor."
plant describes that album perfectly with this quote "In '77, when I lost my boy, I didn't really want to go swinging around - 'Hey hey mama say the way you move' didn't really have a great deal of import any more. In Through The Out Door is more conscientious and less animal."
RIP Karac.
