You should DEFINITELY buy it. Even if you're only a half fan of the band - checking out this DVD will turn you on all the way. Really a testament to what the band had done to date. I can't imagine NOT owning this if you're really into STP. A true keeper!

Hi-Res "Thank You" Art?
« Reply #169 on: May 31, 2008, 06:39:32 AM »
Anyone happen to have a hi-res (or at least a large good quality) image of the "Thank You" cover?

I'm not looking for just the field and daisies - I mean part of the cover with chick (boobies and all).

I've decided to give my Thank You DVD cover a re-do and the closest thing I have is my scan of the cover, which looks like total shit - especially blown up to DVD case size.

I would say the Thank You CD/DVD might be my favorite STP purchase simply because of everything on the DVD.  In fact, I may need to purchase another one soon as the disc may be getting a bit worn. :P

Anybody who doesn't have the Thank You DVD - you need to get it. That's just all there is to it. I'm sure you could easily find a very cheap brand new or used-but-in-good-condition copy on Ebay or Amazon for like way cheap.

Quite simply, this has some of STP's best live performances ever captured in an audio-visual setting.

Honestly, they should make it their goal on this current tour to match the overall quality and energy on some of the more notable Thank You DVD performances.

If they could manage that, then this Tour would be a must-see. Right now, it's only a must-see in the sense that you never know when an STP show might be the last STP show - so treat each one as if it's the only chance you might ever have.

I bought it just for the DVD.. to me the cd was a bonus. Usually the thrown-in DVDs by other bands are a waste of time. Not in this case, though. Honestly, I'd have marketed it seperately, as it is one of the best live performance/music video collections I've seen.

It's like after years of waiting for an STP dvd there was a huge payoff with Thank You.  Also, many of the live video cuts that are on Thank You came from the planned Interstate Love Songs video that was never commercially released.  It was close though... it was solicited at places like Tower Records, but never made it out.

wish I had the answer for you but that's a great idea to make. I just loved the Thank You artwork - what a surprise when I opened the package to see who was holding the flower! classic STP!

one of the best music DVD's out there and its suck in a greatest hits package! you gotta buy the Thank You DVD...great DVD, great artwork and packaging, and a song not available on other releases. great stuff. I just wish they would have released the DVD by itself,  I think a lot of fans dont even realize whats on it

What is the difference between the "Live Performances" and "Bootlegs" as they are categorized on the BE discog page?

Although they are generally each live performances, the Bootlegs refer to unlicensed recordings of shows that were submitted by fans (or venue security guards for that matter... lol) to compile on the Thank You disc.  If you need an explanation in general as to what a Bootleg is in other contexts and you are a music fan, then there is a problem.

I HAVE more bootlegs than I can count :-P ... but thank you for the explanation anyway... i just hadn't expected a major label to release "actual" "bootlegged" material.  Very cool actually.

There is no reason to buy the CD only version if you are a fan. Now, if only we could get a live CD with a bonus live DVD.
