I say Scott, you say Weiland.
« on: June 14, 2010, 09:11:04 PM »
Perhaps this doesn’t warrant its own topic…but it’s Scott Weiland so why the hell not?  ;)

I’ve noticed (or maybe just my interpretation) that we die-hards all refer to Scott as Scott, and then there are those from “back in the day” that call him Weiland. Almost as in, you can tell who the casual fans from the Core/Purple days are right of the bat.  :P

I know it’s a silly question, but does anyone on here that’s followed STP through the years still call Scott, Weiland?  I know I don’t, so I’m just wondering.

Yea, I wasn't referring to anyone in general either, I've just heard it a lot lately being that the album is out and they are a topic of conversation. I find that people that maybe know a couple of tunes from the early days, remember him as Weiland, whereas here on BE.com, we call him Scott like as if we are buddies on a first name basis. LoL.

I typically call him "Scott" - and sometimes "Weiland" - to people who are familiar with him. I call him "Scott Weiland" to people who don't know him very well.

I think my big problem with others is that I talk about the band a good bit in general. :P

I call him Scott and get confused when other people mention Scott - Bad gals amongst us will know what I mean

He's Scott, he's almost family LOL
And if I'm talking with someone who doesn't know him I have to go with "Scott Weiland, STP singer and VR's"
So it's never Weiland. Oh yes! when I have to correct people or radio or TV because they pronounce it wrong Waeland or something like that :P

I pretty much just say "Scott Weiland" to my friends or whoever unless I'm talking to somebody who loves STP.

So I pretty much just say Scott when I'm talking to other people from the board.

I refer to him as Scott to friends.  The guys from STP are probably the only celebrities/musicians I refer to by the first name, even though I don't know them personally they're such a huge part of my life I can't help but just call them that rather than their full names.  I almost feel like they're my friends despite not knowing them, as sad as that sounds.  I see/listen to them everyday and read about them everyday so that might be why.  When I talked to my Dad though I sometimes say Weiland, probably because when my Dad first got into them that's what Scott was mainly going by.

STP Shows: 5/1/08, 6/24/08, 12/31/08, 7/1/09, 5/25/10, 6/5/10, 10/29/10, 9/22/12, 5/30/13, 9/1/13
Velvet Revolver Shows: 7/22/06, 9/15/07
Scott Weiland Shows: 12/14/08, 12/8/11
