I've been to two shows before here, and I've had decent seats. I think this time I want to make the move to the front row. I haven't seemed to be able to acquire the tickets though. This seems like a stupid question, but what is the best way to get those awesome seats at a decent price?
Take out a 2nd mortgage, bet a TON of money in the casino, and they'll comp you two great seats! (Just hope you have a lucky night!)
Unfortunately, the ticket business is rigged these days, IMO. You used to be able to get up at dawn, wait at the arena for hours, and get among the first tickets when the box office opened. No more -- a pile of seats have already been pulled for the scalpe---ummmm, "ticket brokers" -- before the first person gets in line. So you'll need to get REALLY lucky the first day, or you will have to pay a broker $$$$ for the best seats.
If you are willing to take a big chance, 90% of the time 100-200 tickets are released for sale 1-2 days before the show. Those are give-backs from the band, record label, arena, etc., plus extra seats due to how the stage is being configured to fit in that particular arena. You'd get fabulous seats on the side/corners of the stage at no markup.
Good luck! I probably was at the same two shows you were. Scottie was a bit wasted at the first one in 2008 (good show anyway) but was phenomenal in the 2009 show, don't you think? Plus the 2nd show was tighter time-wise -- far shorter delays between songs. Maybe I'll see you there this time!
