Fast As I Can
« on: March 16, 2010, 08:59:39 PM »
Why do so many people want this to be the same song as the one from the demos? That song is brutal. It's cool in a sense that it's STP and it's on those old demos and it's sounds nothing like what is on Core but that song oozes stinky cheese.

I for one will be disappointed if they just re-recorded that song. I hope they are just using the name.
Take it.

It is not a re-recording of the original MJY demo.  It just shares the same title.  This was confirmed by STP's official site webmaster a couple of weeks ago.

I guess I was not around when that was stated, plus, I don't ever look at the other board.

Thank God, that song sucked.
Take it.

I actually think it's a fun, good song.  But it's definitely dated.  The good thing about STP songs now is that they are timeless.  It's tough to tell, other than the production/mastering, when they were released.

I think the hook and the verse of that song is pretty sweet. It'd be cool to see a re-worked version of the same song. Of course, word on the street is that this isn't so.

I'm not sure if this was posted earlier.  But as I was watching Baseball Tonight on ESPN just now they were playing "Fast As I Can".  Earlier they were playing "Unglued".

Just heard "fast as I can" on ESPN

I was just watching Baseball Tonight and completely out of the blue they play a series of highlights and I see the song that is being played is Fast as I Can by Stone Temple Pilots.
I ran around the room like a 5 year old girl who just saw the Jonas Brothers.

From the short clip I heard, the drums are absolutely nasty. It's an upbeat track that definately could've been off of Tiny Music. The chorus is "through the open door" from what I could make out. They had announcers talking about the play going on so it kind of obstructed the song. But from the clip I heard it sounds pretty awesome.

wow, that's awesome.  How did you know it was Fast As I Can?  Did they mention the song by name or does Weiland sing the title somewhere in the song?  We want details! :)

It was labeled when they were doing Web Gems.  It was kinda hard to tell the music over the announcers voice but it was defiantly a rocking song with a lot of energy.  Sounds real, REAALLLL good though.

I'm an idiot and didn't see your thread when I posted that I saw it. I got pretty lucky though, I just was going through the channels and stopped on ESPN and within a few minutes the song came on.

Out of the songs we heard and like you said there were announcers talking over it, it is really really good.

It almost didn't sound like Weiland singing at first for some reason, maybe some sort of vocal effect.  I can't wait to hear the whole thing.

So I'm guessing you guys are recording this channel 24/7 now so we can have a clip of this song?
