Interstate Love Song. It shows their songwriting skills, all for member's tremendous talent, their eclectic inspirations and the fact that they can rock the balls off of anything. All in one song. Plus, it's the song that turned me into the STP addict I am.

This performance in particular got me hooked on STP so much I could never turn back.

I got you?? Hello IT's Late?!? no way, go with Interstate Love Song or Plush!

Yeah but everybody's heard those songs. They just don't know the names or who it's by.

don't be so sure in Venezuela. Why should it be that no one ever knows they're listening to STP lol? :)

Almost everybody who has asked me to show them some STP songs has been been like "oh I know these songs" when I show them Plush or ISL. Gotta show people stuff they can't hear on the radio!

Down or Sex Type Thing.  Although for the latter they may notice it sounds a lot like Dirty Little Thing by Velvet Revolver  ::)
"Robert DeLeo is right there with him in the pocket, accenting the groove with his thick baselines (while exuding a stage presence midway between CIA agent, Mafia hit man, Latin gigolo and dance instructor, thanks to his slicked-back hair, ever-present shades and fluid moves)"

Burn them a copy of Thank You. If they dig it, then burn then a CD of 'deeper cuts,' such as Dead and Bloated, Lounge Fly, Peace of Pie, etc. Sprinke it with a few other deeper cuts like Seven Caged Tigers, Hollywood Bitch, etc. You always start with the more mainstream cuts before you hit them with the off the wall stuff. Don't do tracks like Art School Girl, Glide, or majority of SLDD at first. Ease them into that material.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Interstate Love Song.  There's something severely wrong with anyone who doesn't like that one - fan of STP or not.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Id go with ILS, Wicked Garden, Plush and Kitchenware & Candybars (K&C being a nice mellow-going-to-distortion song)

I really think you should go with something fast and hard-hitting like Down, and then ease them into the deeper cuts.  Between the Lines would work pretty well too actually.

My buddy at work is a STP/VR fan who is familiar with some, but not all of their stuff. So he asked me to make him a cd with all Scott Weiland material on it. Here's the playlist I came up with, let me know what you guys think:

STP- BETWEEN THE LINES
STP-ALL IN THE SUIT THAT YOU WEAR
STP-COMA
STP-TRANSMISSIONS FROM A LONELY ROOM
STP-PIECE OF PIE
STP-LOUNGE FLY
STP-ATLANTA
STP-DANCING DAYS
SCOTT WEILAND-BIG BLACK MONSTER
SCOTT WEILAND-TANGLE WITH YOUR MIND
SCOTT WEILAND-KILLING ME SWEETLY
VELVET REVOLVER-NEGATIVE CREEP
VELVET REVOLVER-COME ON, COME IN
VELVET REVOLVER-LET IT ROLL
VELVET REVOLVER-MONEY
SCOTT WEILAND AND THE DOORS- FIVE TO ONE
SCOTT WEILAND AND THE DOORS-BREAK ON THROUGH

I'd add Adhesive to the STP part and Headspace and You Got No Right to VR. And as long as you're putting so many covers in, Wish You Were Here from VR and Revolution from STP would be good alternative choices. And maybe Andy Warhol instead of Dancing Days.

But if its afor a guy who is a casual fan, he already knows ils and slither.  So I like the mix of their lesser known hits and the great obscurities
