I just hope it sells enough to make the guys want to release another record after this...  It has to be discouraging to the band to not sell what they used to, but I kind of believe they are ok with it.  SLDD didn't sell well, and they stand behind it - so I hope they continue to put out records....

I don't know how much they stand behind SLDD considering they aren't playing one song from that album.

May be the cd is being priced to high.

The first week or so it was reasonally priced but a couple of weeks ago I saw the basic  cd for $16.99, this is in Canada at an HMV.  Today I went in another hmv to buy some other cds then went looking for the new STP, yeah had to go looking as its only being sold with the other STP cds. ANyways its still at $16.99 for the basic, special is a buck more.

That price is high compared to the new deftones at $14.99 and the new Gorillaz @ $12.99 (both of which I bought) and then compared with other new releases, Godsmack 11.99, the black keys $12.99, even the Drake and the new Eminiem were at $15.99.

Just a thought

I'm still loving the album, shame it's not a hit but it doesn't make me love it any less.  I was playing it in the car yesterday for my Stepdad, who hasn't listened to much music since the late 70s/early 80s, and he was digging it.  His favorites seemed to be Fast As I Can, Hazy Daze, and Peacoat.  He was humming along to choruses of each of those.  He also has liked STP's Purple, Pearl Jam's No Code, AIC's Unplugged, and Nirvana's Nevermind when I played those for him.

For sure, the sales dont impact my thoughts on the album at all.  Its still the best cd Ive heard in a while and the best this year.

Man, Between the Lines sunk like a rock. I hope TALO moves up into the mid thirties minimum this time next week.

You definitely make a good point...  Though Ive heard Scott say numerous times that he thinks SLDD is one of their best records...

Seems like they have bodged the timing of this whole thing a bit.

With the album plummetting down the charts like a lead balloon, the last thing they need is a month's break from touring, and no North American dates until August. They really shouldn't have been touring Europe during the album's first release month either.

I think in terms of the album you may be right. However, it seems like TALO is mustering a little steam on its own without a video and a tour. Hopefully it continues to move up over the next 4 weeks on its own and then will recieve a shot in the arm when they begin touring. It seems like they could be out right now playing the states but TALO is climbing slowly and that is a positive. Lets hope it moves each week and then makes a big jump in August when they support it with a tour. With another successful single, this could help album sales a little.

That's a HUGE drop. Next week, they could be out of the top 200 all together.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

I heard Between the Lines at a bar I was at the other day and that was a huge surprise because the bars I've been to in Erie that play rock either play classic rock, grunge, or modern rock. Even the grunge they play is either AIC or PJ, I've never heard STP while I was out.

That tells me BTL is still some what popular even with the drop on the charts. I still don't get why Take a Load Off isn't being promoted like it should be especially following a number one hit. I would love to hear it on a local station but of course the local stations play the same 10 songs on repeat.
