On the radio, I heard that this song was intended to doubt the possibilities of Courtney Love killing Kurt Cobain. Might be why it sounds similar to "Stay Away".

I'd say 5 weeks at the #1 spot for having no new material in almost 10 years is pretty impressive.

Yep it's been at #1 on the Rock Songs chart for 5 weeks.  It was #1 on the Alternative Songs chart for 3 weeks until being knocked out of #1 this week.  It was the first STP single ever to reach #1 on the Alternative Songs (Modern Rock) chart.  So yeah, I'd say it's pretty impressive.  :)

#1 on the Alternative Songs chart is: Lay Me Down - The Dirty Heads [feat. Rome Ramirez from Sublime With Rome].  Also, Three Days Grace has moved up to #2 on the Rock Songs chart so it's looking like STP's #1 on the Rock Songs chart will be gone next week.  But who knows...

Now that the charts have been officially released, here are the updated positions:


Between The Lines

Rock Songs: #1 (5 wks)
Alternative Songs: #3 (-2)

- BTL has not yet broken the top 100 on the Hot 100.  

- According to Wikipedia, BTL is #2 on the Mainstream Rock chart.

 :D   I just remember getting some nasty replies from some DJs.  I guess they didn't like all the emails  :- .

Fortunately BTL has panned out to be a good pick for a lead single, but if 5 weeks at #1 doesn't cut it, I applaud any further efforts to get Coma on the radio!
