Looks like the album won't be streaming until the 19th..it corresponds also with the Canadian date.

Why does it say it comes out on the 24th? They keep changing dates on stuff!! Now I gotta wait till Wednesday to hear it, and I won't have access to internet that day! Damn it!

Well different countries have different release dates. Like in the Netherland..the cd gets released on the 21st. In the UK, it gets released on May 24th.

Oh alright I gotcha. So it looks like I'll be hearing it sooner rather than later. Then again, there is the stream on the 19th.

Damn those 30 second clips are tempting and I'm loving the reaction to them as well as the album reviews but I think I'm waiting until the 25th to hear the rest of the songs I have not heard live or on Amazon.  :)

I never understood why the CD gets released on different days in different countries... Can anyone explain that to me?

It's because Billboard compile their sales figures on Monday after end of trading, if they released the album on Monday it's first day sales would get it a low chart placing for it's debut. Whereas in the UK the sales figures are released on Sunday, so the best day to release an album is Monday to ensure it gets the highest debut possible.

Presumably in the Netherlands they compile their charts from Friday to Thursday, so releasing on Friday morning is best.

I just discovered a new and healthier outlook on not being able to hear the new STP record until it's released. It was there all along. So simple. So beautiful. So nostalgic.

It takes me back to when I was a teenager before the internet provided me with any kind of preview of any album I was planning on buying. Back then it was up to MTV and the radio to play singles and build anticipation, then as the album was released I would buy it on the first day, go straight home, and have a great fucking time discovering all brand new music. Like a kid on x-mas day.

This STP album has given me my innocence back. Or taken my sanity away. I'm not sure which.

You guys decide.

Ok, I take it all back. Screw innocence and pre-internet stone agery, I want my leak!

I was just reading that the only significant  competition to the STP record in its release week is the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack. Further, next week's number one record is going to make it there with just 57,000 copies sold. To me, that spells a possibility that STP are going to debut at number one.

Unless they get beaten by the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack. That would be awful  :D
