Vinyl Edition of "STP"
« on: March 15, 2010, 09:08:54 PM »
I've been wondering lately if the band/label is going to press "STP" on vinyl.

The last two records didn't get that treatment (unless there are some special editions or limited pressings I don't know about).

I'm hoping they do.

Thoughts?

Agree.

I have all the STP vinyls(atleast the ones that are available) and it really is great to put one of them on when you just feel like hearing the whole album start to finish. Not to mention I always felt the bass on a vinyl is superior to any other form of music and it is truely the best way to appreciate Rob's amazing bass playing to the fullest. I'm hoping they put the new album on vinyl. I have a feeling they will because a lot of bands seem to be jumping back on the vinyl train again these days(Metallica AIC etc.) so let's keep our fingers crossed. ;D

vinyl sounds 100% better than any other format!
if you have a good stereo with good speakers, you can compare it to cd, and you'll see what i mean!
such a defenition in every instrument!
i swear you can hear stuff on vinyl that you can't pick up on cd!
little details!
for instance, the acustic fills on AIC's Down in a Hole, at the last chorus of the song!
on cd i never really heard it. when i got the vinyl i thought "wow!! this wasn't here before!!"

any way, hope they press it on vinyl too!!

The last STP record issued on vinyl was Tiny Music... No. 4, SLDD, and TY were released as CD-only, with the exception of No. 4, which was also released on casette.

I'm doubting the new album will be released on vinyl - for the past several albums, STP has not received proper album promotion.  Scott discussed Japanese imports in a recent interview, though, so there's still some stuff out there for us collectors.

Rik's discography: http://www.belowempty.com/Discography/index.php
lists all albums and singles - several of which were released oldschool.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Agreed. They call CDs 'compact discs' for a reason. I wish I had a record player.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

I'd pay BIG $$$ for a vinyl version of the new record.

Vinyl defects??
« Reply #12 on: June 11, 2010, 04:23:08 AM »
I am now on vinyl #2 after returning my first one because Hazy Daze had a weird scratch on it right out of the bag. I get my second one in the mail and open it up and its as if in the factory someone dropped some gold colored something that makes hazy daze skip and unplayable. I am going to return this one and Im afraid to get another one due to two records  having problems on the first track on side B.  Has anyone else had this problem?

My Hazy Days actually skipped too.  Right out of the bag too.  Weird.
