Vasoline has a very distinct guitar riff. I love this song! I just am leary about the bridge. Is Scott gonna take alot of shit for it sounding almost identical to a Nirvana song. It seems so weird that he would do this. Even if it is an homage, why not just do it lyrically. Even the guitar sounds almost exact to the Nirvina riff in the song. This is the only thing precluding me from loving this shit!! Somebody help me get over the bridge.

Easy. Ignore everything negative about it (referring to what you just said), and just enjoy that we actually have new STP in 2010... That's a start.

Step 1. Listen to the 20 second clip about 100 times.
Step 2. Watch the live performance on YouTube about 30 times
Step 3. Download the studio version and listen to it 20 times.

I can't get enough of this song. This album is going to be amazing.

STP! STP! STP! STP! STP! STP! STP!

Plus, none of the critics that heard the song mentioned Nirvana once. They've mentioned mostly Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Aerosmith.

Ha good find, even better than mine.  There's the big ass 28MB high quality shit we all wanted!

I knew about this site for awhile, it's where I found the single "promos" the band did, the ones announcing the single for... MONDAY! lol -- And after awhile tonight, I figured "Why hide this from other STP fans? Especially when it was public to begin with!"

Just curious, exactly how long has this file been available at that link?

I'm a huge STP fan, but I'm a little unsure right now. There's no doubt that the group is as good as ever, but I don't think BTL is a good example of the music they are capable of. It sounds too much like a VR song (reminds me of Gas + A Dollar Laugh). I also liked VR, but it was more straightforward than STP. I still eagerly await the rest of the album (Huckleberry Crumble was pleasing to me, but the beginning of Bagman sounded an awful like the Batman song...not great).

This song has been playing nonstop on my home media server (aka PS3 ;) ) repeatedly. I love it, and it's already on my Best of STP playlist (which is essentially 95% of their catalog).

As I sit here at my keyboard, I'm trying to find the words to describe what I'm feeling.
Meaning:  What do you think of the new song by STP?

I guess I would say, "I like it".  But after listening to it, I felt like I was hit in the head
with a hammer.  The lyrics are so out there, the guitar solo... whoa.
And the rest -- I don't know what to say.

How about -- "My favorite band in the universe has released new music."

Can't get much better that this.  And to see everyone else's excitement on this
website makes all of this even more fun.
