Hey everyone! New to the forum. Been lurking for awhile. Just thought I'd weigh in and say I'm so stoked for a new album from the boys. I've seen the band eleven times. They are a big part of my life.

When I was younger, my house burned down. I remember how awful the whole situation was, but around the same time STP came out with CORE and it got me through it. I lost my virginity during the summer PURPLE was out. And I was married during TINY MUSIC.  I got my first publishing deal during the last album. So like everyone here, STP has a huge impact on my life.

"Between The Lines" sounds like it will be a huge hit and return them to the top where they belong.

Getting ready to lay my weary head upon the pillow, on a day I awoke thinking I'd hear new STP greatness...

Yes, the suspense has been kicked up a notch, as if that was possible.

For those worried about the lead single, fret not - the entire album should be fantastic - and I'm sure there will be a catchy Top Ten single just in time for summer!

It's only a matter of days before the fellas hit the road...so we're bound to hear some reviews about the new songs very soon!

Amen!! The world surrounding Scott and all his creations have just been amazing in the last 8 years keeping me glued and sometimes unglued ha ha to the music scene with great anticipation every day.  It seems everything the man touches turns to gold. I seriously don't know what kinda garbage inspiration I'd have or where the hell I'd be. (Probably) in a hole or layin in a drained pool somewhere without him and his various gangs of musicians. Oh yeah and fashion sense. Very well said VC!!!!!!!!!

I see that the radio station that shall not be named, or listened to, has removed the claim that the single will debut on the 22nd as well now.

What a joke they are. They were still advertising false information. LOL All  news releases stated the 30th for weeks now.

Singles generally start impacting radio a week or so after they've been released.  So I wouldn't be surprised if we started hearing it right around the 22nd... if, in fact, the 30th is still the day.

Practically all radio singles are distributed digitally nowadays.

Do you mean before they are released?

I just mean that it will probably premier on radio (and I would hope STP.com) before it starts impacting radio.  The impacting date is usually not the same as the premier date.  For example, Pearl Jam's "The Fixer" premiered a week or two before it's impacting date.  You typically want some buzz to build in advance.

I'm just curious, but does anyone know what format the radio gets these digital downloads in? Hopefully it's CD quality and not mp3 ... not that I really care since I don't really listen to radio anymore, but that's pathetic if radio has resorted to playing inferior mp3 now instead of CD quality audio.

Some stations receive an actual CD single, the majority tend to settle for a digital download (download files will be in MP3/256kbps format // or a large .wav file about 35-50mb). I guess it probably depends on what the music directors want for their station, I can't speak for them haha...

I hope this isn't claiming that the new single is less than three minutes long.

That isn't very much to hold us over until May if it is one of their shortest recorded singles ever. I am sure this ensures balls to the wall rock though but oh so short.

Days of the Week 2?

Also "I Like When We Talk About Love," that must be a lyric in Between The Lines I guess.

If the song is good, then that's all that matters to me. All about quality over quantity for me. Plenty of their songs are around 2:40.
Have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up.
