Does anyone know if this gig will be seating and no general admission?

The ticket sites say that but I just wanted to make sure. Despite how badly I want to see Alice in Chains and STP play together, not beeing able to get up near the stage defeats the whole concept of seeing a live show, atleast for me.

Maybe a silly and obvious question, is not allowed to stand up during the show?

There are no seats, its pretty much a big stage set up in the middle of a parking lot so its all one big fuckin free for all!

It's not actually held in the stadium, but on the "stadium grounds" which pretty much means the parking lot. It's not the nicest of places for a concert but hey, STP and AIC will be there! It was a blast last year, that was my first time going to the Chili Cookoff.

I heard there were 35,000 people last year. And I officially bought my ticket today so I shall once again be in that "WHOLE lot of humanity" haha

I see that they are now selling "SOUNDBOARD VIP" tickets for this show saying that this is offers an elevated view... I've  never been to one of these before.. does anyone know if they've offered this before and what it's all about?

Thanks!!

it's $200 per ticket and you get the elevated view from the center of the lot facing the stage... there's better bathrooms with less lines -- same goes for the food and the DJ i spoke to from DC101 says there's free beer.... you get to shmooze with the radio DJ's and wear special VIP badges and feel cool for being at a rock concert....

definitely has its perks but i like being as close to the stage and in the crowd as much as possible, so it's not worth it to me.... although, i just can't understand why someone thought combining a rock concert in the hot sun with chili is a good idea... i love chili. i'd eat it everyday -- if i stayed at home everyday. i really hope people aren't shitting their pants in the middle of the show... you may not have that problem in the VIP area

got my tix today! yea fuck that VIP deal...i dont really consider that VIP if the GA tikets get you closer to the band than the VIPs do.ITs all about being up front next to the stage. Who else is going?Me and my buddy are getting a  motel room  for the night thats close by so bring the party our way!

Do you think Scott will sing on any AIC songs? Hoping so cause that is one of the main reasons Im going. I've seen both bands within  the past 6 months so the bonus will be some collaborations.
