VC is up in the 512.

Got in last night around 6pm, got down on some Texadelphia cheesesteaks for dinner - then went to check out the venue for tomorrow night.

I wasn't the only one curious about how Austin Music Hall would look.

SXSW music festival started yesterday, and Motorhead was the headliner for AMH last night.

I scoped out the entrance looking for a STP promo poster...no luck.  Then I chatted with a security guard about the venue, and mentioned I was going to STP tomorrow night.

He said that SW and his manager had visited the venue a couple hours earlier!  I thought it was great to know that ole boy was in town already, and wanting to check the place out!!!

After that we went to a bar called "The Ranch" on 6th street and saw BILL MURRAY hangin' out having a few drinks.  Pretty cool.

Alright, I'm off to see if I can chat with the fellas before the gig tonight - wish me luck!

VC - have a freaking blast and rock out for all of us that couldn't attend - I am SO JEALOUS that you get to hear NEW STP TONITE.  I hate you - but can't wait to check out your video.   :D

So... you had to buy a pass for the whole week?  I've never heard of something so crazy in my life.  I find it hard to believe your average concertgoer is able to dish out $750 without blinking.  Not to mention a hotel room if you're an out-of-towner, food, drinks, T-shirts.... damn.  Are they trying to keep this kid-free and elite?   :D

Ok - so this venue is posting all kinds of "no camera" stuff everywhere - hope to get my point & shoot in for some pics.

Didn't buy the SXSW badge - the venue has a subscription VIP seating area and I was able to get seats up there.
