If that's a pre-recorded version, it's not the same as the album version. There's a lot of nuanced differences. In any case, I don't think it's pre-recorded. There video just doesn't quite sync up.
SCOTT DOES NOT DO THAT! that DVD was leaked and not finished!! also during the new yrs going into 2008 VR was asked to play in the top of that building in NY but they didnt want any power amps or nothing up there in case it fucked up with the live audio?!?! but Scott was like fuck no im not gonna lip synch and he sung to the music backtracks, the band was probably bored except for MAtt and Scott who got to play for real but then again...top of a building in NY, new yrs...the whole world beneath you...nahh anyone would have fun with that lol
look, it's pretty obvious that he's singing live on the video, on the actual show.
the edit was made later for dvd purposes.
if you see Pearl Jam´s dvd "Immagine in Cornice" on the song "World Wide Suicide", you have shots throughout the song of every show they did on that tour in Italy, but the audio is from one performance only.
so it's natural that sometimes it's out of sync.
i think that's what we have here.
maybe they had some problems with it on the show for some reason, and instead of taking the song out, they just did a edit on the voice.
