I think it's interesting that he mentions Scott lip syncing with VR.   I decided to look up some footage of them in 2008 around that time.

I wonder if he was sick or whatnot.  I don't remember hearing about this.

Interesting... I never took Scott as a lip sync-er... Not sure how I feel about this.

My best bet is that Scott in no way lipped that song, but for whatever reason the recording was not up to par for an HD NET broadcast, so in post production they decided to montage edit the hell out of it and play another live version sync'd up.
My only exit is a one way out...

First, I want you to explain how that's "obvious lipsyncing" considering Scott has his hand in front of his mouth the entire time AND the video and audio are slightly out of sync (notice how there's a slight delay between the sound of a cymbol and the image of Sorum actually hitting a cymbol)

Second, the "article" claims Scott was lipsyncing because of a broken tooth. But then again, the article claims VR went to SXSW in 2008, which they didn't.

My bet, some photographer was feeding this guy bullshit and he took it as fact.

If that's a pre-recorded version, it's not the same as the album version. There's a lot of nuanced differences. In any case, I don't think it's pre-recorded. There video just doesn't quite sync up.

SCOTT DOES NOT DO THAT!  that DVD was leaked and not finished!! also during the new yrs going into 2008 VR was asked to play in the top of that building in NY but they didnt want any power amps or nothing up there in case it fucked up with the live audio?!?! but Scott was like fuck no im not gonna lip synch and he sung to the music backtracks, the band was probably bored except for MAtt and Scott who got to play for real but then again...top of a building in NY, new yrs...the whole world beneath you...nahh anyone would have fun with that lol

look, it's pretty obvious that he's singing live on the video, on the actual show.
the edit was made later for dvd purposes.
if you see Pearl JamĀ“s dvd "Immagine in Cornice" on the song "World Wide Suicide", you have shots throughout the song of every show they did on that tour in Italy, but the audio is from one performance only.
so it's natural that sometimes it's out of sync.
i think that's what we have here.
maybe they had some problems with it on the show for some reason, and instead of taking the song out, they just did a edit on the voice.
no big deal
