New album out June 1st, Track listing revealed

Here it is!

Stone Temple Pilots unveiled their first new album in nine years at a private listening party on Tuesday night (February 23rd) in New York City. The entire band was in attendance at the event, with our reporter on the scene saying that singer Scott Weiland "looked the best he's looked in a long time." All 12 tracks from the album were aired, with our reporter calling the record "a natural, melodic progression for Stone Temple Pilots, with Beatlesque harmonies, a lot of in-your-face, hard-rocking tracks, plenty of guitar solos and some astounding singing from Weiland."

The yet-to-be-titled album, STP's sixth, will be out June 1st.

I'll admit Rik called it saying new STP wouldn't be out til June 2010.  That shit will leak by mid May though so it doesn't really matter.

My bet is Between the Lines will be the first single.  I also hope they call the album Hickory Dichotomy just because it'd fit in with the wacky ass STP album names.

I never got into them until Thank You came out, so honestly this is just overwhelming. i mean these guys are music to me! This is an honor really.

To hear that Scott is looking good is promising too. We can expect 120% out of him when the tour starts kicking.

Damnit I don't know if I can wait another 3 months to hear it. I'm stoked off the new song titles though. There are definitely some of the most "out there" song titles on this album.
