They just HAVE to play on my mom's birthday. Grrrr....

Plus at $60 a pop (without fees), I don't know. I might wait till the summer time. I think it's a wait and see show for me. (Meaning wait to see what their set list looks like and then considering going)

Is there a decent hotel close to the venue?  walkable would be nice =)  all my google searches show shady places.. i thought it was a ok neighborhood??

Honestly, I would get a hotel near the loop, and take the red line to the show. I don't know of any hotels near there anywho. What did you find?

The majestic is 125 a night and 5 min away it says...are u familiar with it..is it in a bad neighborhood.  the last time i went to a show at the rivera my car was towed..

The Majestic is in Wrigleyville, near Wrigley Field (meaning the neighborhood is pretty good). You'd still probably want to take the Addison Red Line to the Lawrence stop, as its otherwise a pretty healthy walk through some pretty shady neighborhood in Lower Uptown. Fortunately its just a couple of stops up, and the Riv is right outside the Lawrence Red Line.

Yes, that is the red line. Yes, the stop by the Riv is Lawrence. I'm not too familiar with the Majestic near there. I would just play it safe and get a hotel in the Loop. It takes about 15-25 to get to Wrigley (if my memory serves me right), and the stop to the Riv is about four or five after Addison (Wrigley).

I do have a suggestion about room. There is a website called Hotwire.com. You can get a room at a 4 star room for half the price.
