What Stone Temple Pilots songs have you seen live?
« on: February 18, 2010, 09:13:03 PM »
I wonder if anyone else keeps track of the songs they have heard live from stp, but I write down every set list I see so I can keep track of what songs I have heard from a given band.

Core - Dead and Bloated, STT, Wicked Garden, Sin, Creep, Piece of Pie, Plush, Crackerman

Purple - Meatplow, Vasoline, Lounge Fly, ILS, Still Remains, Pretty Penny, Big Empty, Unglued, Kitchenware

Tiny - Tumble, BBB, Lady Picture Show, Trippin,

No. 4 - Down, Sour Girl, No Way Out

Shangri La - Days of the Week, Coma, Hollywood Bitch, Too Cool Queenie, Regeneration, Long Way Home

Thank You - All in the suit that you wear

Covers - Dancing Days, Revolution, Shine on you crazy diamond

Heard Scott do Atlanta but never with the band.  Interested to hear what others have seen them do live.

As much as we've all bitched about the setlist, especially back in the day, I sure have seen them play a lot more songs than I thought I had...especially only having attended their concerts from 2000-2002, and 2008-2009.  Here we go:

Dead & Bloated, Sex Type Thing, Wicked Garden, Sin, Creep, Piece of Pie, Plush, Crackerman

Meatplow, Vasoline, Lounge Fly, Interstate Love Song, Still Remains
(this isn't listed in the setlist for Del Mar, CA in June of 2000, but I am almost positive they played it), Pretty Penny, Silvergun Superman, Big Empty, Unglued, Army Ants, Kitchenware & Candybars

Tumble in the Rough, Big Bang Baby, Lady Picture Show, Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart, Seven Caged Tigers

Down, Sour Girl, No Way Out, Sex & Violence, Atlanta

Hollywood Bitch, Wonderful, Black Again, Too Cool Queenie

Revolution, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Dancing Days

You should give www.setlist.fm a try, I keep track of my setlists too, and it makes it so much easier. You can track what shows you've been to, and it tallys what songs you've heard live and how many times (Similar to last.fm)

Purple: Vasoline (x4, x2 VR), Lounge Fly (x4), Interstate Love Song (x4, x1 VR), Silvergun Superman (x3), Big Empty (x4), Unglued (x2), Army Ants (x2)

Tiny Music: Big Bang Baby (x2), Lady Picture Show (x2), Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart (x4), Seven Caged Tigers

No. 4: Down (x4), Sour Girl (x4)

Shangri-La Dee Da: Coma, Too Cool Queenie

Really????  I would die to hear that live.  I heard Regeneration that they have only played twice but I would give that up for Bi-Polar Bear in a heartbeat.  Definitely in my top 10!

I'm going to the show on the 23rd in NJ... Mainly focused on STP...

Quick question: Anybody know who is playing the last set? AIC or STP??

It should be STP because the original band is intact and clearly STP kicks far more ass...

Also, just a thought I want to share. I will be severely aggravated if they don't play ATLEAST 3-5 NEW SONGS!! If they think they're going to come out and do the 'Thank You' CD live again I'll be very dissapointed in them.. Also I don't know why they don't do more songs off No.4? Do you guys think it's because that was the darkest of times for them being they had to shut down the CD earlier then they wanted and Scott's longest jail stay?? Because song like Pruno, Heaven&Hot Rods, Church on Tuesday, GLIDE!!! Just have atleast been played before but hasn't...Very dissapointing to be a fan and not hear these songs after 100's of shows over the last 11 years.... I really hope they switch it up! No more STT, Plush, Creep, BBB, NO MORE 'Thank You' other than the obvious like: ISL, Vasoline, All in the suit that you Wear, Days of the Week. Those are cool with me but I don't need the others that I've heard 14 time since '99 tour with RHCP. That was my first show ever and was so funking amazing!!

To anybody going to these upcoming shows in Spring and Summer, I hope they don't let us down...

PS- That 'SETLIST MAKER' on their website?? Please.... Don't think anybody has ever glanced at one request... Literally... O0

It's a festival so it will be all of the hits.  I think they play most Core and Purple because they believe that is what most people want to hear.  Honestly it is what most people want to hear but how are you going to get people in to your music if you don't play it live.  How many times do you go to a concert hear a song and be like wow and play that song the whole way home.  The other songs are great, just need the exposure.

I have 14 ticket stubs from STP concerts that I've bought. However, I have to admit that I've only seen them 12 times. Once, in 2002, I was arrested while on my way to one show. I remember being cuffed in the cop car and asking the cop how long this would all take cause I had to make it to a concert. He laughed at me. Prick... And once, last July, I was so excited and drank so much Jack Daniels before the show, I blacked-out and don't remember seeing them what-so-ever. My friends tell me I had a blast until I fell asleep on the lawn. I've never forgiven myself for that, but I feel redeemed by seeing them 2 nights in a row this past October, and I now posses my 15th ticket for the 13th time I'll see them this May.

Anyway, here's my list:
1) Landover, MD 5/28/00 - HFStival, FedEx Field
2) Fairfax, VA 10/25/00 - Revenge of the Rock Tour w/ Godsmack, Patriot Center
3) Latrobe, PA 8/4/01 - Rolling Rock Town Fair
4) Washington D.C. 10/18/01 - Family Values Tour, MCI Center
5) Philadelphia, PA 10/22/01 - Family Values Tour, 1st Union Center
6) Norfolk, VA 4/16/02 - The Norva
7) Asbury Park, NJ 10/11/02 - Convention Hall (*This is the show I was on my way to when I was arrested and never made it.)
8) Philadelphia, PA 10/16/02 - Electric Factory
---Long grueling break where I thought I'd never see them again---
9) Columbus, OH 5/17/08 - Rock on the Range, Crew Stadium
10) Camden, NJ 5/18/08 - MMRBQ, Susquehanna Bank Center
11) Baltimore, MD 8/10/08 - Virgin Fest, Pimlico Race Course
12) Columbia, MD 7/19/09 - Merriweather Pavilion (*This is the show I got too drunk & blacked-out)
13) Virginia Beach, VA 10/9/09 - nTelos Pavilion
14) Reading, PA 10/10/09 - Eagle Theater

Of the 12 shows I've attended, here's what I've seen performed live:

CORE - I've seen everything from this album, EXCEPT: Naked Sunday, Where the River Goes, and only a partial of Wet My Bed

PURPLE - I've seen everything from this album, but only a partial of Still Remains

TINY MUSIC - Tumble in the Rough, Big Bang Baby, Lady Picture Show, Trippin on a Hole, Daisy, 7 Caged Tigers, only a partial of And So I Know

No.4 - Down, Sour Girl, No Way Out, Sex & Violence, I Got You, Atlanta

SHANGRI-LA - Days of the Week, Coma, Hollywood Bitch, Too Cool Queenie, Long Way Home

THANKYOU - All in the Suit That You Wear

COVERS - Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Dancing Days, Moby Dick, a partial of Smoke on the Water, a partial of Over the Hills and Far Away

Having been fortunate enough to see STP as many times as I have, I realized while compiling this list that I've seen a nice collection of their work. Sure, I'd like to see some different stuff sometimes, but I'll never complain. I've been witness to 2 songs they've only played once ever -- I Got You and Long Way Home. Looking forward to adding their much anticipated 6th album to this list in a few weeks. (I really don't count Thankyou as their 6th album, do you? Topic for another thread I suppose.)
have fun, have fun, have a whole lot of fun!
