I just dont see the big deal about a band being a little late to take the stage is.
Esp. when they did an amazing set on-stage. It'd be different if band members started spitting or cursing at the crowd, which they didn't.
Out of the four STP shows that I've seen, this was #2 in the high ranking list [Indy may 08 is forever one on my list].
The band was on it. Sure, Scott flubbed on some of the lyrics here and there, and Robs second guitar didn't work during Loungefly, but they were so tight knit and on fire at the Midland [Coincidentally, the fire alarm sounded on account of the atmospheric fog before the show].
There weren't any awkward ramblings, everyone seemed happy to be on that stage [VC included], and I think that by the end of the night fans didn't care about the wait. If people would've rather been somewhere else, or had plans to be somewhere at exactly 11:30, they should've just not been at the show.
The thing that I love about STP is that I feel that they make music, for their own sake and happiness, and not just to amass fans and gain record sales. It is ultimately about expressing and sharing ideas and feeling through music and lyrics.
If i'm not mistaken, Scott is bi-polar, so i feel that more than justifies any wait. if he needs time to feel comfortable with himelf, it'll only make for a better show.
Postshow, VC encouraged Andrew and I to go after Eric. He, and the DeLeo's came out through the side entrance.
I've had a mega crush on Dean and his guitar work for over a decade, so my head is still in the clouds. Eric's drum tech had mentioned that the band had been soundchecking riffs of Heaven&Hotrods, so that only added to my happiness to hear and talk about that..
I'll be uploading pictures soon.
Vegas Crackerman, I want group shots, pretty please!!
