If there's no new music played, then there really is no purpose for playing live shows before the cd release.

I know this is a dumb question, but I am asking anyway.  ???  Does anyone know if the concerts prior to May 25th will be promoting the new album?  The only date anywhere near me is 3/30, and although I'll go regardless, I'd love to hear the new music.

Thanks in advance for any info.   ;)

3/30 happens to also be the release date of the new single, Between the Lines. I'd say it's a good chance they'll play that and maybe one other song. But I wouldn't get my hopes up on 3-4 new songs until closer to the record's release

I tell you, if after they post-poned so many shows to finish the album they just come back with the same old setlist people are going to be pissed.
Grab the hate and drown it out...

Thanks everybody!   :)  I guess the only people who know for sure are Scott, Dean, Robert and Eric, and they aren't revealing any set-lists.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the concert, but since I've already been to two STP concerts in 2009, I'll have to admit I will be a bit disappointed if little or no new music is played.  At any rate, tickets are relatively cheap and the venue is great, so if they play mainly old classics, I'll enjoy them and pray they set up another date in my part of the country later on.

Forgive me if this is posted elsewhre, but is there any word on who will be the opening act for the new tour?

It's neither been posted, nor heard.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Pretty sure they'll play it in Detroit since the show is the day after the release but again who knows for sure!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

If they do drop some new tunes before the March 30th air date...it'll be one of the coolest experiences ever - to hear a new STP song that I DON'T know the words to!!!

I recall attending a show at the Roxy in Hollywood right around the release of SLDD.  They played 3 or 4 songs off the album including Regeneration which was cool.  But I do recall being dissapointed they only played a handful of songs from the new album and stuck w/ essentially the Hits.

If past history is any indication, they will play 3 or 4 songs off the new album and stick w/ the Hits.  And as they do more festival shows, those setslists will be the Hits cause that's what the casual fan wants to hear.  If they do headlining shows its possible they'll play an extra few songs from the new album.

if they DONT play any new tunes people are going to be going all sorts of ballistic around belowempty... haha. They'll play AT LEAST the single, and maybe another 2-3.
