"epic" sounding STP songs
« on: January 29, 2010, 10:09:23 PM »
I know this might be a matter of opinion but there's always those certain STP that I listen to and think, "Now that's an epic STP song"  I just get that feeling when I listen to them. They have that over the top sound to them ya know. These are what I consider epic sounding songs...

Sin
Silvergun Superman
Adhesive
Glide
Wonderful

Basically for me it's one song from each album

I would agree with the ones you mentioned except for Wonderful. Good song, just don't get an "epic" vibe with that one. I also find Where The River Goes, Kitchenware & Candy Bars, and Long Way Home "epic"
My STP shows: 8/10/2008, 7/19/2009, 10/10/2009, 5/22/2010, 4/26/2011, 4/24/2015   Weiland solo: 1/29/2009, 11/29/2012, 3/13/2015    VR: 8/5/2007

I don't care how overplayed or overrated that song is; it's my favorite STP tune.

Plush FTW!!!  ;D

Big Empty! It's got the quiet verses and then the epic choruses. Starting with the fills by Eric.

no memory / sin
where the river goes
silvergun superman
unglued (seems like its just a generic rock song at first but the more i listen to it the more epic it gets)
kitchenware and candybars
adhesive
seven caged tigers
atlanta
the guitar solo to long way home
the radio version of creep
and the unplugged version of big empty

i actually have a playlist in itunes called "epic songs" and i think all of those are on there. maybe plush belongs on the list too, its super meaningful and emotional but i dont know if its exactly epic...

This conversation begins and ends with Atlanta...
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

I would say Atlanta, and then Wicked Garden for me.  I always got chills as a kid listening to Wicked Garden-still do to this day.  To me, chills=epic.
