I've heard people say his voice from last night's concert was similar to that time period. I can't wait to hear it for myself.

I was pretty surprised at his voice in person. I thought it sounded great to be honest. I would think it would be harder for him to belt out the louder songs these days, just because of all the wear and tear on his voice. I thought it was really well done though, thought he sounded great.

Scott's voice was top-notch last night... It took a little bit to get used to BBB but it sounds as if he had fun with it!

I agree. The bootleg is great and his vioce was on all night. He def messed up the beggining of lounge fly but recovered nicely. Also screwed up in part of coma but who the fuck cares!!!! That is what kicks ass about live music

his voice sounds great when he actually prepares. he's lost a lot of power through the year but that comes with all the drugs & strain.

Drugs, strain, and chainsmoking.
That said, he sounded freaking great on the audio I've heard. His voice may have lost power, but he's singing really well, I mean actually
singing
better than he has in years.

Yup, Scott needs to nix the cigs. They are completely wrecking his cords. (Should have taken my own advice-former classically trained soprano here-now my voice is shit)

I thought he sounded very, very good Saturday night. I was a bit worried about how he'd sound and even commented on it to my friend right before they went on, but Scott definitely brought it on Saturday night. My friend was never a huge STP fan but she left quite impressed and wants to go see another show with me while they are on tour. Sweet!

that's good to hear because I was really concerned about his voice too. What a difference 10 days can make!

I posted on the Columbus thread my rating of his vocals on each song... overall I was very encouraged. I thought he was terrible on Big Bang Baby... but the rest sounded very promising. I gave the highest 9/10 marks on Lady Picture Show, Plush and Down. Oh my GOD did he nail Down. He really did. If he can sing Down like that, I know he still has it in him to pull this entire tour off.

I'm wondering if he's saving is voice and still in the recovery process and that's why he's singing certain melodies lower than usual. I kind of hope. I mean, it's better than him being horribly offkey (ala half of Kimmel) but "Coma" just ain't the same without him belting out "Don't stay!" at the top of his register. Same with "Big Bang Baby" at the higher parts.
