I bought mine in 1994.  Had the dragon scales. I did not know there was another version for years.

I still remember sitting on the bench in the mall opening the CD right after I bought it and looking through the booklet.  I remember the pic of Weiland with lidded eyes smoking a cigarette.

Out of my 4 ( I think ) copies of Purple, only 1 of them has the dragon scales.  It was my mom's from way back when lol.  I was only 3 when it came out. :P
Picked a song, sang a yellow nectarine.

I can't figure out where my copy of Purple is.  :(  I think I may have the dragon scales version. But it also may be lost forever.  :(  :(

i have both the Scales & the flowers....

my scale version is the original version from the day that the album was released... the 1st tuesday of June in 1994... i wrote myself a late pass that day so that i could go pick the new album up... i then drove around and hung out for 2 hours so that i could get a feel for the album... i can recall coming to school and telling everyone, song 4, is going to go down as one of the "greatest rock songs of all-time"... and it undeniably has...

oh yeah, and i have the limited edition PURPLE vinyl as well.

I also got the dragon scales from the first week this album was out.  Probably one of the first CDs I owned (everything before this was tape cassette for me)...easily the most played CD in my collection and it still looks brand new!

As a side note, I always loved ILS from day one of listening to this album arrived even though Vasoline and Big Empty were getting significant airplay.  Easily my favorite STP album and in my top 5 all time for sure.

I bought 2 CDs the day the it came out. One has the scales, the other had the beach ball. This was before I was on the internet, so I was surprised and I thought it was really cool.
