I bought 2 CDs the day the it came out. One has the scales, the other had the beach ball. This was before I was on the internet, so I was surprised and I thought it was really cool.

Now with internet I'm surprised too.  You bought two Purple CDs and one had the scales and the other the beach ball?  You own something VERY RARE!  :D

Got scales & primary color beach ball... knew there was another purple because my cousin had the psychedelic, flowery one, but didn't know there was another Tiny Music.  Got both when they first came out though...

i have the limited edition PURPLE vinyl as well.
Me too, as in literally purple.  But quick question, does your copy just seem a tad off, speedwise?  Like the RPM's didn't quite sync up right or something... it still sounds good, but maybe slightly faster than the CD.  Or maybe I just dreamed that up...

(For future reference, to embed an image in the forum, put [I M G] in front (without spaces between the letters, I just had to put spaces so it would show up) and [/I M G] after it (Same situation) so here's what it will look like)

Cool! The colors are great. How long it's been there now?

It's been there for about 2 years now.  colors still bright and vibrant as ever.

Thanks for showing me how to embed the image!  Though it's weird to see a giant 'me' staring out at me right in the thread!!!

Neat thread, I never knew there was a Tiny Music variation. I bought Purple pretty much the day it came out and got the scales. Every time I look at it, it makes me think of the word "imbrication" except that I can never remember the word, so I always have to look it up. True story.

My former gf back in the 90s bought Purple several months later and got the flowers. I was so jealous cause they're so pretty. But the scales have more sentimental value for me.

my first copy of purple had the scales, purple #2 was flowers.

the flower cd always reminded me of the flowers on the cake on the back of the album.  here is a link

what is the other verision of tiny music?  Mine has the beach ball artwork...

thats probably because they are the flowers off the cake..

i bought the album a few months ago and thats the design i got..
No Dragon Scales..

I bought Purple the day it came out as well (like many of you) from Tower Records in Garden City, NY. I can even remember where in the store the CD was. I was so excited walking in there, lol. Mine had the scales, and I didnt know of other versions existing until a friend got one thru BMG 2 years later.

But, how many of you bought The Crow soundtrack a month or two earlier when the radio started playing "Big Empty" (before "Vasoline" ever hit the airwaves)? I remember Z100 played it a lot in the spring.

Haha, I did and got into "Dead Souls" by NIN from hearing that soundtrack. Good stuff.
