I saw This Is 40 tonight.

Paul Rudd's character owns a record label, in his office there's a huge picture of Dean blown up and one from the famous HoB show, both pictures were black and white from the 2002 calendar, just blown up and framed.  There's also a large Purple promo poster in his house.  There's also a scene with Megan Fox swimming underwater to Vasoline.

But really, is This is 40 worth the price of a ticket (which is 5 dollars at my local discount theater) just to pick up all the STP easter eggs?

I go to the movies every week, sometimes twice, and it is easily one of the worst things I've paid to see this year.  Terrible.  Definitely the worst in the Appatow catalog.

This is 40....Worst movie I've seen in years.  STP and Megan Fox in bikini still do not save this movie.

In UFC fighter Chael Sonnen's book, he talks about best songs to walkout to fight. One of the songs he mentioned was "Lady Picture Show". He also said something like "STP saved rock music in the 90s". Not sure if I'd go with LPS as a walkout song, but a cool mention.

Speaking of entrance music. There is this Ring of Honor wrestler, B.J. Whitmer, who usually comes out to something Scott Weiland related. I went to a local show and he came out to Down.

Entrance songs for Whitmer (via his Wiki):
"Cochise" by Audioslave
"Self Revolution" by Killswitch Engage
"Down" by Stone Temple Pilots
"Personal Jesus" by Marilyn Manson
"Thief's Theme" by Nas
"Slither" by Velvet Revolver

Theres a TV show called "Wedding Band" starring Brian Astin Greene, he plays the lead singer who also does tours as his day
job.  The show takes place in Seattle.  One episode hes doing a tour of the cities music history, ie where Kurt and Courtney met, anyways an Asian man on the tour asks him, in broken english, "When do we get to see Stone Temple Pirots" , in which he is replied to " STone temple Pilots, theyre actually from San Diego, Orange county .. um, ill expalin later" .. that its was funny and cool.

Wedding Band is my favorite new show. I like it more than a lot of the other new crap.

My local rock station played Vasoline and then talked about Scotty's new marriage.
I just thought together we'd stand, but now I'm looking for your hand...where are you? 'Cause all four walls are comin' down tonight...

Not sure if this was mentioned before? Anybody watch Battleship?  I have not but my ten year old daughter came home the other day and said "dad leaving on a southern train song was playing in the movie" which of course is STP Interstate Love Song.  That was cool.  It is not on the soundtrack but is noted as a movie song credit.  What a classic song!

That My Bloody Valentine is worse than STP at keeping their fans updated.
