I love it when other musicians talk about Dean and Robert like that, thanks so much for sharing it! :)

This is not really a random mention, but more of an article about STP (mostly about Scott and religion), but it's kind of strange so I didn't know where to post it...here it goes:

"Fare such as pulled pork sandwiches, lumpia, brisket and frosty pints of   beers awaited the hundreds of people who attended. A band covering the   Stone Temple Pilots' "Plush" pounded out the grunge classic across the   plaza's air, mixing with scents of mesquite and hickory from the various   barbecues."

The music industry is littered with folks who thought they didn't need their partner or their band to stay on top of the charts.
Quick, who can name a Daryl Hall single? How well did Gavin Rossdale   do post-Bush? What about Scott Weiland after leaving Stone Temple   Pilots?

http://www.vintagecustomguitars.com/Rare-Vintage-LimGar-Electric-Guitar-with-original-case-for-sale_2176.html  '...STP (Stone Temple Pilots) has admitted to using a LimGar on it's production of  "Creep"...'
Not too random because I was looking for pictures of that bass, but still pretty cool that they made that a selling point.

Only kind of counts, but the Phillies have a player named Erik Kratz.  What are the chances this is simply an alter ego for Kretzl?

Movie "Chronicle", the character Matt has two STP oil stickers in his car. Whatever that denotes.

Nonsense, we all know Kretz is tied away in Doug Grean's closet alongside the Shangri-La Documentary, coffee table book, and the plans for the Core Tour when STP's not doing anything.

Perhaps he has escaped and is starting a new life as an MLB player, still sneaking away  time to time to do shows?

Video of the band who opened for STP in Mexico in 2010. There's a cameo of Robert and Dean around min 1.11. Keep your eyes wide open because is too fast and short

And this what I call "The Ultimate Random mention" http://www.losandes.com.ar/notas/2012/9/3/street-luge-llegada-jinetes-extremos-664721.asp

This article is about what you see on the picture. It opens with an extract from Plush "got time to wait for tomorrow, to find it, to find it" why? don't know. Don't get it. That's all it says. Random.

Not specifically a "STP mention", but I'm listening to the Orioles game on the radio at work right now and when they transitioned from a commercial break back to the broadcast Tumble In The Rough was playing. Nice little surprise

EDIT: Also heard Plush after a game at Camden Yards earlier this year
My STP shows: 8/10/2008, 7/19/2009, 10/10/2009, 5/22/2010, 4/26/2011, 4/24/2015   Weiland solo: 1/29/2009, 11/29/2012, 3/13/2015    VR: 8/5/2007

Why are the songs in Purple and Shangri in a completely different order than the original albums?
