It's spelled differently, and definitely not a parody, but their substitute's name is Mr. Wyland hehehehe

I was watching the movie "Airlplane!" on an oldies channel and in a hospital scene (the main character is remembering that he was hospitalized after he caused an airplane accident while he was a pilot) one of the doctors had the STP oil sticker on the back of his robe xD

That was fantastic!

Also, that is a Vox AC30 behind him, which is one of the amps in Dean's setup.

http://artinfo.com/news/story/814496/lenny-kravitz-to-make-a-foray-into-fashion-following-in-the-footsteps-of-rockers-turned-designers

Scott Weiland, the singer of ’90s mainstay Stone Temple Pilots, designed a small line for English Laundry that fares slightly better, if only in its modesty. But the shirts are cut in like Jimi Hendrix’s, and there is a lot of paisley. “From early on, I was inspired by rock icons like David Bowie and Keith Richards, who helped in molding my personal sense of style,” he said.

Folks fallin' in love at STP show

“Moondance and the Stone Temple Pilots is where we started to fall in love,” Holly Fischer said. “That was the last night of Moondance last year and it was great, and it has been great ever since.”

Apparently its a guide at an electronics store as to what CD trade ins to never accept. Someone wrote in STP on the bottom. But higher in the list it says "most 90's bands" so i wouldn't feel bad
