Article about The Flaming Lips:

They speak disparagingly of the acts they’ve opened for: “Nine Inch   Nails and Stone Temple Pilots were concerned that some of our confetti would get on their little guitars. Who gives a f**k?” And Beck didn’t seem too happy with them either.

Interstate Love Song is prominently featured in the movie Battleship.
Picked a song, sang a yellow nectarine.

That article is just plain odd. For someone to accuse Flaming Lips of being ignorant and then go on to brand their lyrics as 'gibberish' is more than slightly hypocritical.

This isn't really a "mention" but when I went to see The Black Keys last Friday I was wearing my Soundgarden shirt and some guy at the concession stand saw my shirt and was like "yeah Soundgarden rocks!" and then we started talking about grunge and 90's rock in general. I told him STP was my favorite band and then he proceeded to turn around and show me the back of one of his calves - which was covered with a giant tattoo of the Purple cover. I'm at work now, but when I get around to it I'll upload the picture I took of his tattoo. I was pretty drunk so it blew my mind seeing that tattoo...I kept on telling the guy how fucking awesome it was haha
My STP shows: 8/10/2008, 7/19/2009, 10/10/2009, 5/22/2010, 4/26/2011, 4/24/2015   Weiland solo: 1/29/2009, 11/29/2012, 3/13/2015    VR: 8/5/2007

In Men in Black III, Obadiah Prince, played by Lanny Flaherty is a black market salesman of intergalactic contraband. His entrance in the movie is of him playing a guitar and singing very poorly, but his guitar has an STP sticker on it.
Also, there was a really funny Andy Warhol tidbit which made me think of the Unplugged cover, overall a pretty good movie.

Their name along with a few songs I didn't catch show on a list of artists during the Napster segment of the CNBC documentary The Facebook Obsession.

Yeah. It looks like a hot mess.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

---------

On a different note, last night I was coming out of the university and I saw someone selling (they have this "street vending" thing going on) a T-shirt with the Peace logo on it...but on closer examination it didn't have the Fleuron on it, but a Star. I assume this was the original design? (I have never really seen it). It was cool anyway...I was temptet to buy it but the color combination wasn't very flattering to my eyes xD

Rotten idea 4. I haven't slept in over a day and I had to stare at it for a half hour.
