"Once a scruffy-headed Eddie Vedder impersonator, Weiland used the first blush (or rather "Plush") of STP's success to get rock-star skinny"

"But when it's the accoutrement that allows an otherwise medium-talent singer to become a media mainstay, it's worth noticing"

I would seriously kick the fucking shit out of the writer of this article.  My tipping point has been reached and I'm tired of Scott getting pissed on and the same goes for the rest of STP.
"I can sit there and feel a deep hatred for Dean and Robert, but when I hear them play guitar, I'm deeply moved." - Scott Weiland '94

I didn't read all of them, but after reading what he wrote about Morrison, I must say he was "nice" with Scott.
Pretty lame stuff.

http://coventry.patch.com/articles/rescue-mes-michael-lombardi-and-his-band-the-black-hand-play-the-rock-house

An actor from Rescue Me
The Black Hand performed mostly their own material with a few covers   mixed in. Lombardi channeled Scott Weiland for the band’s version of   “Sex Type Thing.” Like Mr. Weiland, Lombardi stumbled on a lyric to   quickly pull it together and produce a knockout version of the Stone   Temple Pilots song.

Maroon 5 guys moves like Weiland

"...You know, maybe Levine’s moves were a little more reminiscent of Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, but he was surely grooving and looked good while doing it, .. "

And some band talks about a STP experience

"Of their many experiences, Hayden said opening for Stone Temple Pilots left a lasting impression on the band.

Backstage they kept to themselves and were sort of shy around all the people milling around, but once they took they stage, they were 50 feet tall," he said. "I had never seen a band be so commanding with a performance; 30,000 people didn't touch their chairs for the entire set. It was wild."

Hmmm...he stands like Scott and moves like him... first time i hear that song, not bad.

I really dig "Songs about Jane"  ...that album is really good, but i lost interest in the band after that album.

Pop Evil covers Interstate Love Song....http://banana1015.com/pop-evil-covers-stone-temple-pilots-interstate-love-song/

I don't really like this.  It seems as if their are millions of singers who can put on this vocal style, but nobody can quite sound like Scott.  And that is the problem with most STP covers, the singers always try to sing like Eddie Vedder and it never comes out right.  All the more proof that Vedder and Weiland are completely different singers.

haha true!

About Sour Girl

What I like about this song

I don’t know what it is – there is something compelling about this song. It’s a beautiful transition from verse to chorus with nice vocal layering.
The lead guitar has been de-emphasised and is busier in the chorus than what is initially apparent. This hidden complexity has a subtle effect on the listening experience of what is otherwise a simple song.

"If you said “Plush” by Stone Temple Pilots and a talking Knight Rider car, you are likely self-sufficient, not very concerned with the leaders in your life, well educated, more comfortable with the TV running and more responsible than your younger siblings."

Wow I wouldn't have thought that the boys would kick the shit out of anyone however idiotic they had behaved.

This was written in 2005 but do we know what year he is talking about, did I miss that?

1996?

They toured with Cheap Trick in 1997, but this story doesn't seem legit.

It seems like this might have been 05-16-1997
Cheap Trick did open that night.  Interesting that they began with D&B.
Not sure about the OD part since they played in Albuquerque, NM the next night.

From an article taking to Minnesota Wild new hockey player Devin Setoguchi

"Our biggest attempt was Stone Temple Pilots' 'Interstate Love Song,'" said Bronwell, who has conversations with Setoguchi in fake Japanese. "He'd play one part. I'd play the other part. Didn't sound that good. Then he started throwing his guitars. I'm like, 'Dude, come on, just give them to me.'"

Mr Weiland is at the arse-end of this list because he was at the arse-end of grunge -- Stone Temple Pilots were a last-minute, barely included, almost-impersonation of the genre, to be honest. But there's no denying it -- S.T.P. slipped in at the last minute and, for a while there, long before his face got all emaciated and drug-worn, Scott Weiland was quite a cutie. Think, red-haired Weiland in the video for "Plush". Yes, there was a goatee involved, but try and remember: while chin guards are heinous now, they were perfectly acceptable at the time
