a SW reference:

http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/17048-look-to-the-sky/

It's almost frightening how close some of Look to the Sky resembles Belong, though Iha mostly favors the mid-tempo, big-chorus stuff (i.e., "The Body", "Even in Dreams") and the album's one very unfortunate genre experiment ("Appetite") is the sort of baritone burlesque piano maundering Scott Weiland attempted at his most far-gone on "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down". Weiland's was much better.
I’m here to bleed for all the lust and lonely nights.

Didn't know where to share this exactly. Random is fitting.

G3 (Satriani, Morse, Petrucci) are on tour down here. I got the chance to hang out with two guys of crew on Monday's night. To my surprise, one of them was the lighting tech/designer of STP. So according to him:

1) Robert wrote half of the new Aerosmith record (I was already excited about it, now WOW, I'll wait to see the credits)
2) He's a close friend of Eric, they go biking together (or something like that)
3) He speaks all the time with Robert and Dean. "They're so cool" and showed me a text Dean sent him! (so so so bizarre and exciting)
4) No connection with Scott at all. I got the impression he did not like him so much hehe but probably it was that he did not have much to say either.
5) "Robert is a better guitar player than Dean" -dixit. You could tell he's amazed by Rob's talent.
6) "So you're the girl who did Dead and Bloated?! such a small world" :D

Hmmm, no mention of Robert on the credits according to wiki.

Great stuff, though - thanks!

A film inspired by "Barbarella" won at the NoHu film festival:

Kelly said “Un Amor Ilicito” is being submitted to film festivals across the country. It took two years to complete the film, shot around New Jersey and upstate New York. Its inspiration originated from a song by Scott Weiland called “Barberalla.” It was supposed to be a music video but Kelly decided to expand it. The film was of a female assassin who wanted to save her boyfriend from her family’s misdeeds and a criminal world.

And here "Interstate love song" was picked Nº1 at a "Top 10 Hard Rock Songs of the 90's"

Interstate sounds like I Got A Name. Excuse me, "rips off" I Got A Name. How dare I not accuse STP of being copycats! http://soundsjustlike.com/stone-temple-pilots-interstate-love-song-sounds-like-jim-croces-i-got-a-name/

Yes, I remember reading somewhere where Dean and or Rob admit to that song being an influence on ILS .. ILS is the better song though :)

I saw This Is 40 tonight.

Paul Rudd's character owns a record label, in his office there's a huge picture of Dean blown up and one from the famous HoB show, both pictures were black and white from the 2002 calendar, just blown up and framed.  There's also a large Purple promo poster in his house.  There's also a scene with Megan Fox swimming underwater to Vasoline.
