Just got back from the show. Same set list but pretty sure they didn't play piece of pie. Was in the 2nd row and got some good videos, including one of 7 caged tigers, which I'll be putting on youtube soon. During dead and bloated they got a guy from the front row to do the bullhorn intro. Met some people beside of me who before the show, talked to Robert outside the tour bus, and he let them hear some of a new song on his Ipod....

How did they say the song sounded?  Also what did you talk to Robert about?  Any new album dirt?

EDIT: Just saw that the people you talked to met him and not you.  What'd they say about the song and did they tell you much of what Robert said about the song/album?

No I didn't talk to him at all, just them. He told them he is hoping for a Nov/Dec release, like we've been hearing

Yeah it would be great if they could come on here and tell us how the song sounded.  But anybody here who is going to an upcoming show needs to find Robert's tour bus and try and listen to a new song and give us the damn dirt!  Thanks for the info though boynamedsue.

Just to let everyone know the boys sounded fantastic last night.  This was my 5th time seeing them and I have to say it was by far the tightest and best I have ever heard them sound.  They sounded so good you almost thought you were listening to the cd.  Everyone is in top form especially Scottys vocals.  To me this is very encouraging for the future of STP, can't wait for that new album and they better play a bunch of the songs this time when they tour it.

I had pit tickets and I was 20-25 feet from center stage.  Closest I have ever been to an STP show.  Scott has slowed down on his contortionist dance moves, but his voice was great!  They re-started one song, not sure what happened, and I thought Robert said the guy doing the "Dead and Bloated" megaphone intro was going into the Army in a couple days.  I thought the best sounding song of the night was "Crackerman."  

I have taken barely enought guitar lessons to appreciate Dean's guitar playing.  The guy was just on fire.  A lot of his soloing was not the same as what you would hear on the CD's, and the slide he plays on Big Empty, was absolutely perfect (I heard him miss two notes on the intro at ROTR last year).  

This was also probably the nicest, politest crowd at any show I have been to.  I was sooo close to the stage, and there was no pushing, jostling or anything.  I didn't see one fight, person falling down drunk at all.  Testament to STP fans and Cincinnati, come back soon STP!

On the song they restarted, I think Dean started to play a different song.  They stopped and Scott said "Sorry, we mixed up the songs" or something along those lines.  I don't believe they played "Piece of Pie" last night either.  Great concert by them, it was my second STP concert (first was RotR last year) and I thought they sounded a lot better this time around.  Scott still danced around a bit, but was a lot more subdued than in other videos I've seen of him in the past.  Great concert and a great venue, had a blast.  Here's to looking forward to my third STP concert for the tour with the new album!

The people boynamedsue were talking to weren't bullshitting, STP's webmaster Matt has heard some of the new material too.  Man I hope the album comes in November instead of December.  CAN'T WAIT!
