SW sounds really good... let's just hope that he doesn't blow out his voice during the solo shows, before the STP trek across Canada...

He's not performing at all in June so he'll have some time to rest his voice again.

you only need 8 to 10 hours of sleep for your voice to recover  so he has plenty of time

Eh, the audio was pretty bad there. It sounded like he was singing in a water tank.

Damn that shirt in the pictures almost hints that he's been doing the rock star crunches again. Doesn't look like a pot bellie under there.   For all you ladies that want him to start taking his shirt off again it looks like a good sign.

Here's Interstate Love Song from this performance.  I think it sounds terrible.  I don't think any cover of it by STP related side projects (VR, AoA, Scott solo) has sounded good.  This one sounds really rough though, it shows how key every member of STP is to making their songs sound right.

The main problem is Doug. He seems to think that he needs to improvise a bunch of random riffs instead of playing the song.

I think they mean to do it that way cuz in that 101 wrif show Scott says something about ILS being played on a different way.
If you only knew..

Well I don't like the way it's played at all, like Dean DeLeo said about VR covering STP, you've got to play the right chords.

I agree with Blue, Doug shouldn't have added in the random riffs, they don't fit the song at all.  I don't like the drumming much on it either.  Also Doug if you are reading this it's nothing personal dude, I liked the Missing Cleveland performance, I'm just stating my opinion.

The only STP tune VR played different was sex type thing which would have sounded like shit if Slash and Dave had played the open chords for the main riff and Vasoline which i'm not a fan of the cover cuz it seems like either they  were making it heavier or they just didn't give a shit for the song cuz i didn't dig the harmonics for the main riff and ILS was very bluesy which i dug.

VR also played ILS and Crackerman in some shows  :)

Yea i dug crackerman alot specially the solo, if you hear the end of it Slash and Kushner do the bends together at the end just like Dean did the dual guitar parts in the studio version, so it's pretty cool to know that they actually did that to pay a little tribute cuz they didn't have to do that at all

Like I've said before I actually liked VR's cover of Sex Type Thing, to be honest I don't even remember how their covers of Crackerman sounded.  I saw them do it twice but I don't remember.  I remember ILS and Vasoline sucking though big time.  But hey Army of Anyone fucked up those songs too.
