Wow. That was a crazy story. Glad you are back in one piece. As a videographer myself, I can safely say *knocks on wood* that I've never had an experience like that happen to me, and hopefully I never will.

On a side note, anyone have a setlist for Our Lady Peace?

I didn't know all of the songs they did, but here's the ones I recognized...

Superman is Dead
Clumsy
4am
Monkey Brains
Naveed
All You Did Was Save My Life

They were really good.  The lead singer jumped onto a speaker then back onto the stage.  He finished the song then went off the stage for a minute and came back with electrical tape around his leg.  His jeans were ripped from his knee to his crotch.  You could see his tidy whitey's.  It was kinda funny.  I'd actually like to see them again, they were that good!

Thanks Christie. I've seen them a few times myself, as a supporting act and as a headliner, and they always put on a solid show. They are a great band. It just amazes me how they are HUGE in Canada, like U2 huge (not quite, but you get my point), yet they havn't made a huge dent in states. (With the exception of the Clumsy era, and perhaps Gravity)

They have a new album out this month, and the word is it's back to basics and it'll have a Naveed sound to it.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

That is a crazy story!  I have filmed some smaller named bands in the past like Blindside, Mewithoutyou, Zao, Beautiful Mistake, Emery, etc.  Those have always been in smaller venues and I had permission from the bands in nearly all cases.  I've never tried filming a larger band...I figured it would be impossible.

well, I started my own thread not realizing there was one already...oops...here is what I posted. I'm really sorry I didn't check out the forums in the days leading upto the show, I'd have liked a chance to get to see at least a few of you. I probably could have helped out with roid-boy a little...I mean, I'm not a tough guy, but I have a way about me that usually defuses situations.

Hey guys, just made the 3 hour drive there and back from Toronto...don't know if anyone else was in Sarnia (Lake Huron side Michigan/Ontario border) for Bayfest where STP rocked the crowd last night.

I had an awesome time. This was my first open air concert/festival and I had an awesome time. Always been a fan, but was more of a sporting event goer than concert goer in my younger days so it was my first live STP. They used their normal stage set-up from what I've seen with the big colourful "screen-save-esque" backdrop. I paid $79Cdn for "VIP" and was about 10 people back from the stage. I'll post a few pics later.

The set list was...as best as I can remember....sorry if I get the order wrong

Silvergun Superman (after which Scott thanks everyone for coming out, points to the souvlaki stand and ask, "Can someone get me a sandwich?" cheap pop, entertaining, nonetheless)
Vasoline
Lounge Fly
Wicked Garden
Big Empty
Creep
Army Ants
Sour Girl
Seven Caged Tigers
Plush(Scott announces that they're working on new material and what better way to work on it than to bust out a new one on us...then they play Plush...hehe, got me)
Interstate Love Song
Crackerman
Sex Type Thing
Sin
Unlgued
*Encore*
Dead and Bloated(intentional or unintentional megaphone malfunction, Scott tosses it aside with a shrug and just unleashes the opening lines, sick!)
Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart

I had an awesome time, the boys did not disappoint, I tried my hardest to get a pick or drum stick, but only Robert was tossing his junk out to my side of the stage, I even went back after the lights came on, but couldn't find one. Truly an experience I will keep with me.

Ha ha nice pics!!!!!!! Ya andrew we got in a wicked scrap about ten minutes after we left you at the bar. This fag looking for trouble said I walked too close to his car at the hotel. Started shootin off his lip and I turned around..........to make a long story short he won't be shooting off anything for a while lol!!!!
I was great hookin up with you though. You are one of the nicest guys you'll meet on tour.
I upgraded my GA ticket to unlicensed VIP and was fuckin front row man.
All I can say is Scott and the boys are on their game better than you will see them ever. Dean has improved 100%.
The whole inside venue was full of food vendors and right after Silvergun he yells out "somebody make me a sandwich!!!!!"""
One other thing is that Scott stood up un the stage speakers for dead and bloated and the megaphone wouldnt turn on and he smashed it off the ground and did the muffled hand thing still awesome.
 Excellent tighest show !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll upload my front row shots later.....runnin on the neighbours wireless ......sucks ass!!!!
Hawk
ps. Great to meet and hang with you once again Mr.andrewivanhayes

Just added this to youtube. I used my 8 year old sony camera sorry about the quality...

By the sounds of things, Hawk's head is probably in the shot somewhere, I was in the same "unlicenced" VIP section, just further back.

nice pictures, i was about 10 feet behind the barrier on deans side. drove 3 hours just to see Stp for the 2nd time in 2 days, the drive was worth it.

i noticed people comments about scott taking the stage after the rest of the band, i noticed here he came on stage with them.

also something interesting, i was looking at the bands buses outside casino rama the night before, noticed one was brown with white and greyish stripes. i also noticed that bus left the backstage area of bayfest just after stp left the stage, before the crowds got out. i assumed the band got on the bus and headed out down the 402 towards london, on their way to ottawa for mondays show. i was stuck in traffic for about 40 minutes before i got on the road and started heading home. to my surprise, somewhere around two and a half hours later, somewhere near pickering, i came up behind a brown bus with white and greyish stripes with california plates. i thought about following the bus till they got off the highway, perhaps to meet the band, but it was already 3:30 am and i needed some sleep, would have been fun to meet the band though. oh well there is always next time

Yeah, I noticed the same bus leave right after their show in Ottawa.
