« on: February 14, 2009, 03:22:58 AM »
An STP song was featured on this Yahoo dude's Music Blog that lists different songs with lyrics that many people usually get wrong(according to him).

Here's the full list of songs...http://http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/getback/88498/excuse-me-while-i-kiss-that-guy/

And here's the special bit on the STP song where that bastard author takes a typical cheap shot at the band..http://http://www.getback.com/gallery/misunderstood-lyrics/2986575/8/

Weiland is pictured with some other dudes in the pic.
Alter Bridge: 10/20/07

The author is definitely some kind of talentless fucktard.....  I am so sick of critics disrespecting Stone Temple Pilots.  I am at the point where I just need to write a letter, save it to my desktop and send it out to each asshole critic to conserve time.  Robert Plant played with stp....  Do I need to say more?  Oh and lets not forget the bashing of lyrics...  No one bashes Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden and we all know they have some crazy ass lyrics to oh well FUCK CRITICS  I no longer listen to them anyway.

not to mention you'd have to be retarded to misinterpret "where you goin with that mask i found" as "where you goin with the master plan"
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

I've never sung something as stupid as 'someone get the door,' but I'll admit I've NEVER known the actual correct lyrics, which is pretty sad. Not a big Beck fan I guess.

Ya that is pretty fuckin' off even for misheard lyrics. If he actually listened to the song he would know that's not even close.

And where's Smells Like Teen Spirit on this stupid list? No one knew those words till you looked them up.

Agreed. I still mutter the words till this day besides, 'He we are now, entertain us!'
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Yeah I wish I could give you exact dates but I know for sure they (stp, robert plant) did a few shows together...... Scott talks about it on  Vh1 storytellers.

Evidently a cover of Dancing Days, in which the band clearly pays tribute to Led Zeppelin, acknowledging that they are playing a Zeppelin song, is considered theft.

Looks like that guy was stretching to get some content.

Who were those other cats in the picture with Weiland?  Old school 'beast' Weiland, when he was 'fat' (aka not rail thin and coked out) and rocked some flannel-age was pretty sweet.  That grunge look he had on one of the first live videos on the Thank You dvd (I think it was Where the River Goes)--money.

wat

I'm assuming they're referring to the lead riff in "Trippin' On A Hole" which is almost EXACTLY the same as "Dancing Days" by Led Zeppelin.
It's the same notes in the same order, just a different rhythm.

I have never ever heard anyone accidentally say "master plan" instead of "mask I found."  Perhaps the guy who wrote that article has gotten that lyric wrong in the past, but I think he's in the minority.

Anyone who doesn't realize and accept that scott writes lyrics that are a lot less direct and more "arty" than the average lyricist either isn't really a fan, hasn't been paying attention, or is in some sort of super-fan based denial.  He does and always has written in a more poetic style than most other modern-rock vocalists.  He is poetic, and to the average listener (re: idiot) that comes off as non-sensical
