OK - I am SO happy that Rik put these up again as a download.

You guys... the only copy of these that I have is on a CASSETTE TAPE.  How pathetic is that?

Awe.  Makes me fall in love with them all over again.  Suuuuuuper Scaaaaaaaaary Area. Scary.

Discuss.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Love them.  Love Machine is still my fav.  I also think "American Man" from Libertad has some elements of "Spanish Flies", unless I am just hearing things :)

Yeah, I'm really happy Rik put those damn things up.  It's been a long time coming since I added some STP to my iPod.  Now I really want my boys back.  Dammit.

dean deleo said and i cant find it that the song meatplow is from his early teens ,long before stp got together, soundgarden started out in 84, i was kind of hopeing i can beat him in this by saying its earlier then 84

STP is a copycat band, Atlantic forced there hand to sound like other bands and in return they were paid very well .. so your friend is right ....

STP ever recognize MJY tracks?
« Reply #12 on: April 04, 2008, 01:18:11 AM »
So, with the reunion of STP, I am listening more and more to them, especially the older stuff.. the Mighty Joe Young tunes.  Has STP ever recognized these in interviews.. maybe what they plan on doing with them.. if anything?  B-sides, holding them as some may fit on upcoming albums, maybe holding them for the end of the career box set??  Just curious, some of the tracks could hold their own, Fast as I can, Scary Area, Only Dying, etc.  Just wondering if Scott and the boys have ever discussed the tunes in an interview or something...

only dying will never be released. I can't imagine any of the other ones being released. Those are nearly 20 years old now. I think they will stay MJY forever.

Dean and Robert have answered questions about the demos in a couple of online chats in 1999/2000. They said the songs would not be used anymore and that several of them, including Only Dying, had been dissected to create parts for other songs that eventually did make it on STP's albums.
