Fresh setlists upcoming?
« Reply #540 on: December 07, 2010, 07:10:47 AM »
I read in the Argentina forum that STP is in a contractual agreement to play the same songs night in and night out at their concerts. If, and when (crosses fingers), they are not represented by Atlantic anymore after their next album, will they begin to play what they want to play in their concerts? Or am i just reaching too far?

Wow, that would be awesome. It sucks that they would have to get stuck in some stupid contract with Atlantic about it, but I'd rather have that be the reason their setlist is always the same as opposed to them just sucking when it comes to switching up their setlist
My STP shows: 8/10/2008, 7/19/2009, 10/10/2009, 5/22/2010, 4/26/2011, 4/24/2015   Weiland solo: 1/29/2009, 11/29/2012, 3/13/2015    VR: 8/5/2007

So do you think that after the release of the next abum they will be still obligated to Atlantic to go on a tour under Atlantic? Or will it be goodbye for good?

I thought that sounded too farfetched. As far as I know, I don't think a label has any influence on a setlist.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Since we're on the subject of setlists. Does anyone know the setlist for any of the 5 Latin America shows that the band has played so far? Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a minor change or 2 after the month or so off, and they start up again in February.  Something along the lines of the Hollywood Bitch, to Tumble in the Rough, to Heavens and HotRods changes we saw this year.

They need to play more Tiny Music and No.4! I want to hear songs like Pruno, No Way Out, Sex & Violence, Church on Tuesday, Pop's Love Suicide, Tumble in the Rough, Lady Pitcure Show, Big Bang Baby, Art School Girl, Adhesive, Ride the Cliche, and Seven Caged Tigers. Think how crazy that is, I just named twelve epic songs, and none of them have been played live on this tour. That probably speaks volumes of STP's music catalog, but also could indicate they need to add two or three songs. If not add two or three songs why not have twelve or so songs that you play every night then rotate on the other six, thus keeping the setlist fresh and interesting.

"Pruno" would sound so badass live. On record, it sounds so...violent and live already so I can see it going down very well in concert.
6/4/08 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore (Red Wings win the Cup); 7/7/09 - Lansing, MI - Common Ground Festival; 8/19/10 - Grand Rapids, MI - Deltaplex; 8/26/10 - Detroit, MI - Fox Theatre; 4/20/11 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore; 8/18/12 - Pontiac, MI - Silverdome

I´m pretty sure you´ll find it in the argentina show forum. I posted there.
