What's the point?  The band will never stray from their greatest hits set list.  We were having this argument back in 1999.  Their set list barely changes.  They should represent each album during the shows, focusing more on their latest release.  At the VERY least, if they have to play the same songs every.. single.. night,  MIX IT UP.  You don't have to play the same songs, in the same order, night after night after night.  This would give most hardcore fans a slight element of surprise.

I find it funny that everyone has grown so tired of the "greatest hits" set that 9 out 10 of these proposed set lists include every song BUT the hits...haha.

In a perfect world, they would play a 20+ song set...but that's highly unlikely.
I won't go into a set list myself, but I will say that whatever they do, I hope they really promote the hell out of the album...I thought they didn't really do that great a job with SLDD.

For example, I caught U2 on the Elevation Tour some years ago and they played 8 of the 11 songs off of All That You Can't Leave Behind....EIGHT of ELEVEN!!!! That was awesome. That album was chockful of single potential...and I think the new STP record has just as much promise.

I would say this to STP... ignoring the deep album cuts and playing the minimum off the new record will only (in time) solidify the reputation of a nostalgiac act. If you're proud of your new material...show the audience and play the hell out of it. I understand you still have to deliver the hits, but you can find a happy medium, in my opinion. And if setlists are shuffled from show to show, the chances of the same people hitting multiple shows is even greater. And when that happens, the potential for multiple night stands in one location becomes greater....Just my $0.02.
STP: 07.31.00 | 08.04.01 | 10.24.01 | 04.23.02 | 10.11.02 | 05.31.08 | 09.05.10
SW: 11.30.11 | 03.12.13 | 08.29.14 | 03.10.15
VR: 05.28.04 | 05.18.07 || AoA: 02.01.07
CheSTP: 09.06.13 | 04.25.15 | 09.20.15 || JeffTP: 07.28.18 | 09.15.19

I want the return of Wet My Bed/Crackerman as the opener and STT (especially the way they did STT when they closed with it) as the closer. Those were the days!
STP: A bunch.

Wow.. the same boring setlist is still being played.  Same songs.  Same order.  Played exactly as heard on their albums.  Zzzzzzz yawn.  Glad I am not wasting money to see them any longer.  I'll just download Live in Chicago since it's the same as the show they played last night, and the same as the one they'll play tomorrow, etc.

Lazy... if you ask me.

Love the new album... so many good songs going to waste from it.. as well as their other albums

I think it would be cool if they had a rotating setlist with some songs (Plush, ILS, new ones) being played every night and others being rotated with other songs. That way there would be more songs added and you wouldn't know what you were going to get. Could be something like Tumble one night, No Way Out the next. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me they didn't expand the live set after the release of the CD. I was hoping they would begin to play other songs from the new disc and not the same old 4 they've been playing what I was wrong.

That's a serious beef and all the die-hards should be quite disappointed, imo.
Take it.

Hell, remember when they had a contest on STP.com.. I believe it was before or after SLDD came out where fans could pick the setlist for each show in the different cities.... and then the shows came.. and poof, the whole fan voted setlist never happened...

I would love to hear their explanation for playing a static setlist....

Yes...but, we can still come up with our setlist wishes. It's fun to put together our dream setlist. Mine would be a setlist for a one time performance...

1.Adhesive
2.Wonderful
3.Bi-Polar Bear
4.Glide
5.About A Fool
6.Hello It's Late
7.Samba Nova
8.And So I Know
9.I Got You
10.A Song For Sleeping
11.Black Again
12.Atlanta

Have the performance in a small theater and film it for a DVD release.

I'd spend the whole set crying  :D

I could probably die after hearing this setlist. :D

Wow... as much as I wish it weren't so, I couldn't agree more. So many great songs tossed aside and abandoned. Makes me sad.
But she'll never really be alone...as long as I'm beside her...

Yeah I noticed that too.  It seems like a lot of artists do this...  Vote for whatever songs you want to hear ....and then I'll play whatever I was going to play!

Thanks and good night!!!
