100% yes

its their most recent album and they rarely play stuff off of it, when i saw them on tour supporting it in 2001 they only played 1 song from it

oh i love the setlist too, purple and core are both excellent, just maybe some new stuff in there too would be cool. although i've always been a supporter of bands playing what they want to play, i don't want to see a band play a show they feel they have to play rather than one they want to play

Re: What the 2009 Summer Tour Set List COULD/SHOULD HAVE Been...

I'm just happy to have seen "Army Ants" live.  I'm sure many of you have seen the "Army Ants" performance on the "Thank You" dvd.   It was a treat to see it live when STP was in Lansing a couple weeks ago.

My set-list for this tour would have most-importantly included more tracks from #4.
ESPECIALLY "No Way Out", and or "Heaven And Hot-Rods."  On the lighter-side,
"Adhesive" would be one for the true die-hard STP fans.  But as far as this summer's
tour, I think we got our money's worth.

To have your favorite band get back together, play live for you a few times,
and have a new record in the works... come' on!  What more could a fan ask for?

If STP was playing closer to me I really wouldnt have to many complaints about the setlist.

It's without question MORE BADASS then last summer...Cuz seeing them play two of my top three favorites in silvergun superman and seven caged tigers...It would be worth it for me.
STP: 08/22/10 - Cleveland, OH.
        08/28/10 - Pittsburgh, PA.

I tried to redo my list with more of what they've been playing in mind. I'm pretty sure the whole audience would get bored stiff by that middle part with all the balads, but I figured it would be cool if they did sort of balad mini-set in place of the old acoustic miniset.

I also listed the guitar I'd want Dean to play it on. If I haven't named a guitar then it would be the black 78 Les Paul standard.

1.   Silvergun Superman (Wino)
2.   Vasoline
3.   Wicked Garden
4.   Big Bang Baby (57 Special,
5.   Big Empty (Sunburst 78)
6.   Lounge Fly (Lake Placid Tele)

7.   Lady Picture Show
8.   Black Again (PRS)
9.   Days of the Week
10.   Atlanta (PRS?)

11.   Down (Wino)
12.   Plush
13.   Seven Caged Tigers (Tele)
14.   Creep (PRS)
15.   Interstate Love Song (57 special)
16.   Adhesive (57 special)

Encore:
17.   No Memory/Sin
18.   Dead and Bloated
19.   Long Way Home
Grab the hate and drown it out...

Okay, my dream setlist goes something like this:

As the band hits the stage they begin with Dead and Bloated.  Once the song is finished, Scott walks to the edge of the stage and says, "I hope we have some die hard fans here tonight, because we are going to play every song that we recorded in order of their release!"

Now that is a dream setlist  ;D

Scott wouldn't be able to sing for a month after that....  :D

But hey, I'd go and pay 24.95 for a ticket.

How about these apples?

1.   Dead And Bloated
2.   *New Song*
3.   Vasoline
4.   Wicked Garden
5.   *New Song*
6.   Hollywood Bitch
7.   *New Song*
8.   Sour Girl
9.   Lady Picture Show
10.   Days of the Week (electric)
11.   Glide
12.   Creep
13.   *New Song*
14.   Plush
15.   Lounge Fly
16.   Interstate Love Song
17.   *New Song*
18.   *New Song*
19.   Seven Caged Tigers
20.   Army Ants
21.   Down
22.   *New Song*

23.   Only Dying
24.   Sex Type Thing
25.   Trippin
26.   *New Song*

A little unweildy, but it's 26 songs just like when they first did a show for Tiny Music. Plenty of new song, deep cuts AND singles to keep everyone happy. On the downside side they'd obviously only do this set ONCE and probably take a week or two off after it. But in a perfect world they'd record it and for once they'd actually release it one DVD!
