Wow...my first post here. I've been lurking for years.
An Evening with STP
Red Rocks, Morrison, Colorado
1. Wet My Bed sample, Crackerman
This is possibly the best opening for a concert I've ever seen. It never gets old.
2. Coma
I've only seen this live once (Family Values Tour), and it was spectacular. The guitar solo soared, sounded really HUGE.
3. Heaven and Hotrods
If only, but it seems ya can't get it if ya really want it.
4. Piece of Pie
Audience has had ass thoroughly kicked at this point, but it gets better.....
5. No Memory/Sin
The 2000 performance in Memphis was absolutely staggering.
6. Big Bang Baby
Always a pleasure, especially the last verse.
7. Wicked Garden
I shy away from the singles, but WG always comes off great live.
8. Long Way Home
Torture that Les Paul at the end, dude. Show no mercy.
Acoustic Set
9. Daisy - Dean & Robert play while set is being put together
I concur.
10. Atlanta
That would be awesome. I don't care for the city, but love the song.
11. Creep
Might as well.
INTERMISSION
12. Kitchenware and Candybars
But first, The Lemon Song teaser as in Philly 2000 (with ample gong action). That would be a nice way to ease out of the acoustic set.
13. Seven Caged Tigers
Yes, the electric version, please.
14. Regeneration
Wouldn't that be cool?
15. Silvergun Superman
Suffers some live without the guitar overdub, but damn it, gotta hear it.
16. Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart
One of my favorite bass clinics. If Scott's on, watch out. Bust out the strobe lights.
17. Plush
Scott runs into the crowd and sings.
18. Unglued
With screaming-into-megaphone-then-collapsing burnout ending from No. 4 tour. Wholly awesome, left my jaw hanging open night after night.
***Encore***
19. Dead and Bloated
It belongs here.
20. Down
It belongs here.
21. Dumb Love
Wow.
22. Sex Type Thing
Well, duh. Don't forget the siren at the end.
This would be one hell of a show. I mean, my god.
Interstate and Vasoline head for the slag heap, at long last. Seen 'em enough. Don't even think about playing the two bad songs (the insufferable Days of the Week and the lackluster Lady Picture Show).
It's worth noting, at the Hard Rock in Vegas 2001, Lounge Fly was a hell of a good opener, and quite a surprise, too. Scott's head was all scuffed up from his run-in with the LV oinkers. What a pair of nights.
Girlfriend is clamoring for Still Remains. A smooth rendition of Meatplow always hits the spot. Playing ALL of No. 4 would be a treat. The Shine On You Crazy Diamond start was wicked (I think I was the first person in the crowd to recognize it when they first played it in Austin at the Roses show). Oh, and Naked Sunday. Forgot Big Empty.
Shit...this needs to be two nights.
