Setlist Discussions
« on: January 28, 2008, 09:56:26 PM »
It's a topic going on at the official site, but I wanted to know what everyone here thought. What would be your dream setlist?

I hope STP would mix it up from night to night, but that really hasn't been Weiland's MO whether in STP, solo or VR, so I doubt it will happen. Either way, can't wait to hear them live again. I would assume we would not hear anything regarding a schedule until May, after VR wraps up their tour.

My setlist is a mixture of dream / probable reality. Songs that I would love to hear, but probably won't be played include...Silvergun Superman, Glide, Hello It's Late and Dumb Love, And So I Know, and four of the five unreleased songs that came out a couple years back. I think they should retire Dead & Bloated. Love the song, but it's not in my top 24.

Recorded Wet My Bed which feeds into. . .
Army Ants
Crackerman
Interstate Love Song
Big Bang Baby
Sin
Days of the Week
Wicked Garden
Lady Picture Show
***Acoustic Set***
Daisy -- Dean & Robert play while set is being put together
Sour Girl
Pretty Penny
Wonderful
Atlanta
Creep
***End Acoustic***
Big Empty
Tumble In The Rough
Vasoline
Only Dying...that would be cool, no chance though
Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart
Hollywood Bitch
Plush

***Encore***
All In the Suit That You Wear
Down
Sex Type Thing

Jessie's Dream List
« Reply #4 on: January 31, 2008, 07:13:31 PM »
Basically, I'm obsessed with Long Way Home's setlist.  I only made a few changes (I HATE that you left out D&B, you're CrAzY, man!) to turn this one into Jessie's Dream List.

Press Play which feeds into. . .
Army Ants
Crackerman
Tumble in the Rough
Big Bang Baby
Sin
Days of the Week
Wicked Garden
Lady Picture Show
***Acoustic Set***
Daisy -- Dean & Robert play while set is being put together (that's hot)
7CT (OMG!)
Interstate Love Song (always been a dream of mine to hear it acoustic live)
Wonderful
Atlanta
Creep
***End Acoustic***
Big Empty
H&H
Vasoline
S&V
Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart
Hollywood Bitch
Plush

***Encore***
All In the Suit That You Wear
Down
D&B
Sex Type Thing

Loves it.  Now, I'm going to dig up some STP Live.  Think I'm feeling like down.
dun dun dun dun dun dundundun dun.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Let's go!
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Jessie:

Thanks for the props.

I tried to spread it out evenly between all the studio albums, at least as much as was realistic:

6 songs from Core
5 songs from Purple
5 songs from Tiny Music...
3 songs from No. 4
3 songs from SLDD
1 unreleased demo
1 song from Thank You

I've thought for a few years they should open with Army Ants, just to mix things up. It's a killer track.

I do like them opening with Press Play and love the addition of Heaven and Hotrods as I have never heard it live. I'm ok with leaving Sex & Violence out and I like the addition of Seven Caged Tigers to the acoustic list. I heard that one in Chapel Hill, NC during the Tiny Music tour...it was killer. My suggestion of the Deleo's playing Daisy was from what they did during that same show in Chapel Hill.

As far as removing D&B, I just thought removing that from the back-end would freshen things up a bit. Also, I just want to hear Big Bang Baby live again. . .Richard Patrick singing it at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, while it was great to hear, is not the same.

If STP comes to Cleveland, I will be there as I assume they will skip Charlotte. My wife doesn't like STP that much and she is excited about seeing them again as two of the three best concerts she has ever been to were STP shows.

H&H rocks live... saw it once in Colombus, but my press pass was only good during the first three songs, H&H was the fourth.  I heard it while making my way back to my friends in the audience.

I'm sure I'd be hysterical the entite time during 7CT - I was barely able to handle K&C.  I'd shit if I heard this one acoustic.

No.  No freshening up.  If it's not broke, don't fix it - and I would DIE without hearing my beloved grab that bullhorn and start that "I AMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......."

And the whole "IF STP comes to Cleveland" thing - then all of you fucks had better save up some gas money and party with me up here in C-town.  Lord knows my stupid ass is going to follow those boys anywhere they go and are willing to play.  I've driven my ass all the way down to West Palm Beach for some Weiland in the past - this time I'm in it for the long haul.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!
