I completely agree with Peebs and JugeSTP. A very good point was made in Page 5 that STP had many successful records while VR had 1 successful record. STP had 3 multiplatinum records and a platinum record in the 90s. Sure SLDD bombed, but they had already had 4 major album and it was a gradual drop in sales. Libertad sold like 300,000 to this point total in the US compared to Contraband which sold 2 million. Velvet Revolver were a flash in the pan (not that I didn't enjoy it while it lasted) while Stone Temple Pilots are an important band in rock history. Scott is where he belongs and the Velvet Revolver phase is over for him.
Velvet Revolver with Scott will most likely never come back imo, there's just no incentive I can really think of. It's not like they made any landmark groundbreaking music together so I doubt Scott would be enticed to do it for artistic reasons, there also was always a distance between the band and Scott. Also Scott and Sorum hate each other and Slash still makes snide remarks about him so Scott wouldn't do it because he misses them (the STP break up had barely any harash words said, the most the DeLeos said was that Scott kept fucking up and they were tired of waiting for him to get his shit together, but Dean said in that same interview "I love making music with the guy, he's the best" while VR have called Scott a MISTAKE in recent months) , and like I've said a million times in this thread the money probably wouldn't be enough since Velvet Revolver don't warrant a big high priced reunion. I don't want it to happen, and I don't think it'll ever happen. It would just make 0 sense.
