On Crackerman I think he's saying "Smoked tracks, mud flaps, dust blowing in my eye, I'm a roamin'..."
Think about a car peeling out and taking off. I think Scott wants you to picture the rear wheels on a car that's getting away from something. It peels out and burns rubber, hence the "smoked tracks". That also explains the mud flaps on the car, and the dust blowing in his eye is all that's left after the car has gotten the hell outta there.
I also have several guitar tab books, and I've found several errors with lyrics, so I never trust them.
As far as Tumble in the Rough Goes, I though he said "Can't hold a man by a mission, rough talk sold on the commissions", or something like that. I've never been successful at convincing anyone though...
