I'm not exactly sure why this song is on the album. Especially if it is exactly the same as the one on the soundtrack. Nontheless, I think it's a great song.

This song should have been left out and replaced with something that was more new to us.

Does it fit the rest of the mood of the album? That's the only reason why I can think they included it.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Yeah I think it fits in well on the CD, i just dont like rehashed material on albums really.  I just prefer original, new, material.

13 tracks on this CD.
Beautiful Day/Learning to Drive has been around for awhile.
Fame is a cover
Be Not Afraid is a cover.

That takes us down to 10 songs for an album that he's been working on for "so long".  Still, I am loving the album so far.  I hope this "disc 2" sees the light of day.

Keeping up with the Jones' part is so stupid, I prefer the original. This is one of the best songs on the album though.

I didn't like it when I first heard it as "Learning to Drive" as part of the Outtakes.  I didn't like it when it was redone and renamed for "Bug."  I still don't like it now.  The only part I DO like is the "keeping up with the Jonses..." that Crackerdude disliked.  I'd have preferred something new, as well.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

I was surprised to see this on the disc. I hadn't heard the version from "Bug", but I don't like the chorus addition to this version.  Actually, I always thought that this was the weakest of the Shangri-La outtakes, and I'm not to clear as to why it's on this album. It does fit that sort of goofy, solo-Weiland Bossa Nova, Polka beat thing that more or less kills the commercial success of his solo albums.

In any event, if I had to listen to this song, I'd stick with my outtake bootleg. Sort of like Mockingbird Girl, I like the "original" version better.

I like more this version than the outtake version, but it still dislikng me that part of "beauutiful beauuutifuuuul daAAaAayy". Anyway I agree with what you said about replacing the song... It wasn't necessary another mix of this.

I quite like this song and I for one am glad it was included as I was never going to buy the Bug soundtrack for one song, it also does fit on the album nicely. I wasn't a massive fan of the original STP demo and think this is an improvement, nice eerie noises added to the verse and I really like the 'Keeping up with the Jones's part', it adds to the whole trippy vibe of it! Very Beatle-esque song especially with that horn solo in the middle!
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long

Are people upset that Scott had included Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down on 12 Bar Blues because it was previously released on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack?  Or that Mockingbird Girl was on 12 Bar Blues (in remixed version) despite appearing on the Tank Girl soundtrack 3 years earlier?  I don't remember seeing people complaining about that, but maybe I'm wrong.

Look I just want to go out sometime you know.  Like normal people, spend time together and enjoy each other's company. Like best friends.  Like lovers that care.  Who actually respect the relationship you know?"
