"I'm missing Cleveland and the snow"

OMFG.  I.  Heart.  Scott.  Weiland.  And I thought I was the only Clevelander that liked snow.  Awwwe.  Me + Scotty.

This stuff sounds exactly like what I thought it would sound like (though I like "Missing Cleveland" much better than "Paralysis".  Oh, how I love that voice.  I could listen to him allllll day.

Wait - I have.  lol.

ETA:  So we have a download link for "Missing Cleveland" -- how about one for "Paralysis"...?

How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Right off the bat not too crazy bout "Cleveland" not sure its the kind of tune I'd ever go out of my way to listen to repeatedly really, sounds kinda like a tune that would gain him a new younger audience who listen to poppy stuff, hmm.. However, loving 'paralysis'
My only exit is a one way out...

Great song.
Far more "commercial" than I expected.

He's got a song up on his myspace page, I'm thinking either one could be the 1st single... I haven't heard what it will be so who knows. They are both growing more & more on with me each listen.

New message from Scott's MySpace account-

Hey everyone!

As you may have already heard, Scott's new album "Happy In Galoshes" is set to be released November 25th, with an upcoming tour to support it (dates to be announced soon!). The debut single from the new album called "Missing Cleveland" is now posted on Scott's myspace page, soon to be hitting radio stations nationwide this fall.
Come check it out! What? Not enough Weiland for you?? OK, well for the next few days you can visit SPIN Magazines online site for the exclusive streaming of "Paralysis", available here:

Missing Cleveland is fucking amazing. I've listened to it at least 8 times so far. And I like it more with every listen.

Paralysis is good, but Missing Cleveland definitely has that "popular single" vibe to it.

I can't wait to see what other songs we get to hear before November 25th.

Not to be negative (because I'm very happy to be able to hear new music from Scott), I agree that the production is a little weird, and Cleveland is a generic sounding song. Out of all of STP's career and even VR, they never had to resort to using the dreaded "I V vi IV" chord progression (the most over-used chord progression ever) to get a hit... this is why it sounds generic. (more about that: http://www.angelfire.com/fl4/moneychord ... esson.html).

Some people will say "but its about the words and the melody"... but I say when its using something so generic, then what goes on top of it ends up generic too.

It seems every band resorts to this if they need a hit, and I was hoping Scott wouldn't ever do it.

Although I'm pretty happy with Paralysis... the chorus is awesome.

Matt Sorum broke into Douglas Green's studio and lowered the vocal mix!

I knew you'd be popping in here soon.  :)

I had to. Cleveland is just plain poor.

The other one is a bit catchy, but kind of annoying at the same time.

I hold true judgment until I hear the whole CD.

Yeah, pretty mediocre if you ask me... it's generic it seems. It makes me cringe knowing this is what he's going with for a single.
Take it.
