If he was endorsing McCain

You probably wouldn't have any problem with his "rhetoric".

Yeah but you saw what he was saying about Clinton and he was alluding to relating him to Obama.  If he was endorsing McCain I wouldn't want to see him do it in something like that either, but I think more of a, "Hey get out there and vote, doesn't matter who it's for but make your voice heard," would have worked better.  At least he didn't do an ad for MoveOn though, now that would piss me off.

BECAUSE Rock the Vote STARTED in 1992 and it was the youth vote that helped in getting President Clinton elected.
It has nothing to do with "party".

Take the partisan glasses off.

I would.  Sean Hannity pisses me off a lot when I watch Hannity and Colmes.  I hate Ann Coulter and would punch her in the face if I met her.  I'm tired of McCain talking about Bill Ayers too, I hate it when he talks about Ayers because it's rhetoric and it's been talked about to death.

Well Scott was definitely insinuating that he wants people viewing the video to vote for Obama, you're crazy if you think he's not.

Then I must be crazy and your getting subliminal messages that no one else in the world watching the video hears.

Again.....point out in the video where he utters a current candidate by name.....

He insinuated it.  He was comparing Clinton and that era to Obama and this era.  You can tell by watching it.

Who cares if he mentioned Obama or not? We all know he's got Scott's vote anyways.
I for one thinks it's nice that Scott has an interest in politics and encoruage people to vote.

AGAIN....
Because when this organization was started it was during the Clinton vs Bush presidential campaign. It was PROVEN that by getting the youth involved made a huge difference in the outcome of that election. Which is the reason for Scott making the comparison.
Once again after 8 years of utter crap it's getting those eligible to vote registered can make another huge difference in this Presidential Election.

do you believe all those people that "Rock the Vote" persuaded to fill out a voters registration form became only democrats? It got millions of first time voters. It's about taking those who feel apathy to understand the importance of voting.

Again, take the partisan glasses off, show me where in his PSA or any where on the website you see a partisan affliation.

Yeesh.
It's awkward how they posed him with a guitar, as if they're going for this ultra casual "between songs, rockstar scott weiland talks politics" vibe.. looks pretty forced. and yeah, all the editing.. bleh. I don't find this video very inspiring. and seriously, he looks like he's reading off cue cards (albeit with great difficulty).

Man, listening to him talk now is so painful.

I actually feel dumb listening to him.

It's a shame... the poor guy's fried.
Take it.

Yeah its not the greatest "spot", but he did it and he actually sounds better than most publicity/ interviews he does, atleast they didn't let him ramble.  He's a VERY proud guy and I think he gave it his best.. that's just the way he talks now.. his bod has been through alot, sadly to say..  (sticking up for Scotty in the early am  :) ) But "here here" for being active! :-*
