Eric Kretz Announcement
October 22nd, 2008

Due to the unfortunate passing of his father, drummer Eric Kretz will be taking a brief leave of absence from the Stone Temple Pilots tour dates this week in Texas and at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans. Drummer Ray Luzier will be filling in for Eric and will be performing with the band at these shows.

Poor Eric, my thoughts are with him and his family, terribly sad.  It will be surreal seeing STP shows for the first time ever without Eric Kretz.

Awe!  Poor Eric!

When I met him in Cleveland, he talked our ears off telling us about how much he and his father enjoyed ice fishing together.  :(  That's so sad - I'll be sending him good vibes from C-town.

+1.  I am very curious as well, although Luzier is a professional- he wont change the sound much.

Horrible, horrible news.

Our sympathies for you and your family, Eric.

Ray is a cool dude, and was awesome the couple times I saw AoA.  I'm sure he'll do a fine job pinch-hitting for a few shows.
